With only a few weeks left, what can you do to make this a summer that matters? A few Fridays ago, the Fellowship Hall filled with family, friends and preschool campers as those of us lucky enough to be in attendance were blessed with a wonderful performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by this year’s “In His Light” Theatre Camp. Their performance is always one of my favorite events of the year, and, like always, I was impressed by how much Sandal Aronson and the kids were able to accomplish in one short week. The set design and costumes were fun and inventive, Phyllis Gessler rocked the piano, and the kids really shined as narrators, egyptians, and the sons of Jacob. Everyone did an AWESOME job! I was particularly thrilled because of how thoroughly the script required the kids to learn about the life of Joseph, the Israelite patriarchs, and early biblical history – all while singing, dancing, and (often) hula hooping! It was clear they were enjoying themselves... but, even better, it was clear they would each come away with yet another piece of the story we are all born to play a role in: the story of God’s redemptive love for His creation. I was again reminded of just how EASY it can be. One week. One camp. One new song stuck in a child’s head. It doesn’t take much to make a difference, and it’s still not too late for you to start a family tradition or habit that will impact your kids, spiritually. It can be as easy as starting a family devotion , doing a pre-dinner dance-oto Jumpstart3 , taking daily thankfulness walks , or just helping your child to learn their next Level before church on Sunday — every little bit will go a long way. Begin praying about it and listen for God’s leading. It’s not too late to make this a summer that matters for Him! Passage of the Month

PARADISE ISLAND

Summer is the perfect time to focus on your family’s spiritual growth and education.

JULY

A Summer That Matters!

Page 2: July Newsletter!

August 30th is Mark your calendars!

The S.S.UPDATEBringing you up-to-the-minute Sunday School info!

This week, weʼre discovering: Weʼll finish out the Stand Up series back in the New Testament with Peter and John in Acts 4. In this passage, they got in trouble for sharing the message of Jesus. When theyʼre put on trial and told to stop talking about Jesus, they stood up for whatʼs right and told everyone that they will keep telling others about Jesus no matter what will happen to them.

Our Bottom Line is: We can stand for whatʼs right because Jesus is alive.

We hope kids understand that Jesusʼ death and resurrection was a game changer. Our life can have purpose because of what Jesus did. We can show conviction¬ by trusting Him no matter what.

Take-Away Concept:Our memory verse for the month is Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, let the Lord make you strong. Depend on His mighty power.” This is a great reminder for kids to trust God to help them stand up for whatʼs right.
