Pastor Andy Kilps

“Our mission is to: Grow in Faith, Live in Love, Share the Hope, as we Journey with Jesus.”

Gardening in the “Garden State”!

The Kilps family finally has a garden in the “Garden State.” Of

course, many think that because I grew up in Wisconsin that I must

have spent time on the farm and milked cows, etc. Well I didn’t

grow up on a farm and never had a garden. I guess it took coming

to New Jersey to get closer to the earth that God made. Who

figured, right?

We have two raised-beds that are each 4’ by 10’and we have

tomatoes, onions, strawberries, cucumber, string beans, red bell

peppers and jalapeno peppers! We have them in between the CE

building and the Dunkin Donuts property right along the fence line.

It has been a lot of fun and the whole family is involved.

The most enjoyable part

is watching the garden

grow! There is a great

song at the end of the movie “The Lorax.” Beholding the last

Trufulla seed all the people join in singing “let it grow”!

That got me thinking – this is what God wants – things that grow!

And most important of all – God wants US to GROW! We are not

just to grow up physically, but are to grow up and mature spiritually.

Physical strength is good, but spiritual strength through God our

creator is even better.

This Summer will you GROW? God doesn’t want you to stay the

same, or even worse, to go backward in your spiritual life – no, God

wants you to go onward and upward! Keep on the Journey with

Jesus, one step at a time. Read a daily devotional, open you Bible,

talk to God in prayer – and even if you are on the shore or away on

vacation try worship in another church to get spiritual nourishment!

(but then you can’t come back and tell me how many other pastors preach better than I do! )

Ephesians 4:15….. speaking the truth in love, we must

GROW up in EVERY WAY into him who is the head, into

CHRIST…”

2 Thessalonians 1:3 We must always give thanks to God for

you, brothers and sisters, as is right, because your FAITH is

GROWING abundantly…”

Growing Together,

Pastor Andy

Treasurer’s Report Sisters and Brothers we continue to be blessed with strong envelope giving and a favorable market thus far this year producing a modest net surplus! In addition this year we celebrated our 150th which produced stronger than normal giving for our Anniversary event. We are, however, entering summertime which historically has been a low point in giving for the congregation. Please endeavor to keep up your weekly giving throughout the summer which will assure a stronger cash flow position as we meet our recurring expenses, which don’t take a break for the summer. Enjoy the summer and I’ll produce a report that contrast our giving to date compared to our budgeted giving to date for our next update. Brother Rex
