• Idea/Solution: Combine commercially available IR attachment for smart phones with the power of crowdsourcing through K12 schools to create a giant database of IR images, dubbed “Thermographic Information System (TIS).” The SmartIR app leverages sensor-based intelligence and immersive thermal vision to guide students to collect and interpret high-quality data. The thermal images and corresponding temperature data can be used to uncover anomalies to assess the state of residential energy efficiency and identify potential upgrades.
