June 14, 2017—Volume 47, Issue 24 This Week’s Lesson Sunday Morning Worship Buddy Johnson Sunday Evening Worship Jann Cupp GOOD NEWS We want to welcome two new members into our church family! On Sun- day afternoon, Gary and Joy Bodenstein met with the elders and placed membership. Gary and Joy have been worshiping with us for a couple of years now. Gary is retired from the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, TN and currently serves with the Veterans Honor Guard. Joy is retired from the Putnam County Board of Educa- tion. Some of you will remember that Joy and her children Jamie and Lee were members here in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Please wel- come Gary and Joy when you see them at worship! Our children and teens are excited to go to Short Mountain next week (June 18-23) for our annual week of church camp! We have 252 campers and adults signed up so far. It’s going to be a great week! Please pray for our children and teens while they are away. Camp is the highlight of their summer. GUEST PREACHER On Sunday morning, June 25, Dan Gulley will be our guest preacher. Dan is the preacher at the Smithville Church of Christ in Smithville, TN where he has served for the past 21 years. Dan received his training at the former Williamstown Bible College in West Virginia in 1979. Dan and his wife Donna have two sons: Caleb and Josh- ua. We will have a combined adult bible class on June 25 at 9 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m. Please make plans to be here for this spe- cial day of worship. We want to welcome two new members into our church family! On Sun-day afternoon, Gary and Joy Bodenstein met with the elders and placed membership. We will be meeting at the church building at 1:00 on Sunday, June 18 to leave for camp! Family Night will be Wednesday night, June 21, up on the moun-tain, with dinner beginning at 5:45. We should re-turn Friday, June 23, by 10:30 AM. Below is a copy of what to bring, as well as a copy of the dress code. This is straight from our shortmountain.camp website. If you have any questions, check out the website or let me know! What to bring to camp: 1. A Bible 2. A Notebook and Pen 3. Sleeping bag / bedding for a twin bed 4. Pillow 5. Towels 6. Toiletries( toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant) 7. A swimsuit and cover up outfit 8. Flashlight 9. Modest Clothing (See Dress Code below) 10. Jacket / Rain Clothing 11. Extra Shoes 12. A bag for your dirty clothes 13. Money for a Canteen Card What is the Dress Code? -Shorts must reach the top of the knee -NO sleeveless shirts or tank tops -NO mid-drifts ( belly must not show) -NO spaghetti straps or rolling sleeves to resemble spa-ghetti straps -Make sure to cover your swimwear on the way to the pool -No flip-flops or wet clothing around the horses -No piercings for male campers and no excessive pierc-ings for female campers -No excessive tight clothing (leggings are not allowed) Please make sure to abide by dress code during camp. We have adopted Sycamore Elementary School again this year and are collecting school items for the 2017-

2018 year. Below is the list of items they are in need of, submitted directly from the school.

Please only buy the items on this list. Wide ruled composition books Glue sticks Zipper pencil pouch with 3 holes Plastic 3 prong folders Clear plastic sheet protectors Black dry erase markers (chisel and thin tip)

The table is set up with samples of the items needed. As you gather your items, please place them under the table.

Young At Heart : Museum of Appalachia Tour Norris, Tn. July 14, 2017. We will leave the JAC parking lot at 8 am. The cost per person will be $35.00. This includes your lunch, taxes, gratuity and the self-guided tour. Musical entertainment will be provided during lunch. You will also have time to shop in the museum store on your own. Deadline for sign-up and payment is June 28. We must have at least 20 people to go or the trip will be can-celled. Make all checks payable to Larry Harkleroad.
