June 16, 2020 Sony's Eye-sensing Light Field Display technology is showcased in a 15-inch, glasses-free desktop volumetric monitor. This 4K HDR display features super high precision and contrast for the best spatial reality experience not found in conventional naked-eye 3D displays. The display is a personal device with a built-in camera to identify the person’s eye and viewing angle. Based on this information, the 3D image is adapted for the best viewing angle (image 1 below). 1 How it Works The display should be connected to a gaming computer via HDMI cable and runs Sony's SDKs using a game engine such as Unity and UE4. It will be easy to playback existing VR/AR content and various 3DCG data. These SDKs will run on Windows PC. Therefore users can enjoy the spatial reality experience on various open platforms (image 1). Usage of the Technology Sony’s Eye-Sensing Light Field Display technology is ideal for 3DCG content creators in the production field. It enables them to better visualize their content and VR/AR apps during the creation process by displaying a 360-degree rendering. Sony's Eye-sensing Light Field Display technology is showcased in a 15-inch, glasses-free desktop volumetric monitor. This 4K HDR display features super high precision and contrast for the best spatial reality experience not found in conventional naked-eye 3D displays.

How it Works
