LIFE TOGETHER

ADORATION “NOT JUST ANOTHER MEETING”

All are invited on Tuesdays to continue their worship and love of God at adoration. It is a visit, not a meeting. A visit of ‘love to love’. Bring whatever is in your heart and soul and leave it at the feet of the Lord for HE will be at yours. “Adoration for the Blessed Sacrament is the best time you will spend on earth”. -Mother Theresa Join Deacon Brent Duplessis every Tuesday evening at 7:00pm for Eucharistic Adoration. Taking special time with our Lord is a great way to grow closer to Him.

Dear Friends, It was good to have the sound of children on the campus this past week. Thanks to all who participated in SKY Vacation Bible School. It’s a fine way to kick off the summer. I think Mr. Chris Redden looked pretty good in his WWI Flying Ace outfit…… Although we have been in what is called “Ordinary” or “Ordinal” time for the liturgy, these last two Sundays of Trinity and the Body and Blood of Christ have ushered us into resuming the telling of the events of the life of Jesus outside of the liturgical seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent Easter. We pick up on the 11th Sunday and are immediately drawn into the cost of discipleship. I mentioned last weekend that I send out to parishioners who wish to receive a weekly email called Preparing for Sunday at St. Jean Vianney. In this email I give the readings and a hint at what the homily will be about. I also highlight certain events happening the upcoming weekend and week in the parish. If you would like to receive this weekly email, let me know or the parish office staff and you’ll be added to the list. As you may remember, our parish is conducting a Capital Campaign 2012, A Time to Pray, A Time to Give, with a focus on paying of the remaining debt on the 2000 Building Program, building a parish gymnasium and covered walkway and drop off for the Church. We are currently conducting the first phase. Later this Fall we will kick off phase two. If you have not been contacted yet about the Campaign, it will come soon. Please pray for this major effort because the results will greatly enhance our parish life. The Parish Finance Committee has just about completed work on the 2012-13 parish budget. I thank all of you parishioners who have been so consistent in your financial stewardship. You truly allow ministry to occur for our parish in a remarkable way. There will be an OPEN HOUSE this coming Wednesday, June 20th at 7:00pm for those who have an interest in learning about the Catholic Church, someone who is unbaptized or baptized in another religion. We’ll meet in what is called the Multi-Purpose Room, which is near the Parish Hall. There will be folks on the look out. Please invite anyone you know who may have this interest to

come and see. Thanks to the Parish Disaster Relief Committee for offering the parish Hurricane Readiness material. If you took a survey sheet home from Mass last Sunday, please return it ASAP. I hope you are having a good week and that your tomatoes are growing… Love,

MOVING? CHANGE OF ADDRESS? If you are moving out of the parish or have a change of address and wish to remain in the parish, PLEASE NOTIFY THE PARISH OFFICE. Every week, envelopes are returned to us and the parish has to pay the postage due. It can get quite costly. The post office will not forward envelopes to a new address even if you have filled out a mail forwarding form. If you let us know your plans soon enough, your envelope service can continue uninterrupted.

MISSION APPEAL AUGUST 4TH AND 5TH

On the weekend of August 4th and 5th our parish will welcome Fr. Librado Baluarte who will preach the annual Mission Appeal for the Diocese of Sorsogon, Philippines. The proceeds of our mission appeal for the Diocese of Sorsogon in the Philippines shall be used for the following projects: For the education of our 124 seminarians (71 in

high school, 42 in college, 11 in theology). Most parents of these young men are poor and cannot afford to give them a priestly education, which has become more costly through the years. The Province of Sorsogon is one of the poorest in the region of Bicol, which is often hit by natural ca-lamities such as typhoons (hurricanes and vol-canic eruptions.

For our pastoral program which focuses on the gradual establishment of the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC). The BEC includes some livelihood programs such as animal dispersal, organic farming, production of herbal medicines as well as formation of leaders in agricultural techniques and animal husbandry.
