MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL

The construction of a new municipal hospital under the name of Zagreb University Hospital (SBZ) commenced in 1986 at the location in Novi Zagreb. However, construction works were discontinued in 1993, and in 1998 the Croatian Government passed a decision approving the Programme to Resume the Construction of the University Hospital complex. The gross developed area of the completed portion of the complex is approximately 120,000 m2. According to plans, this area should ensure the accommodation of approximately 1,000 hospital beds. According to a proposal which gained support from the Croatian Ministry of Health, the program to convert the Zagreb University Hospital complex would consist of three spatial and functional components:a health programme,a programme to move certain Croatian institutes operating within the health sector, anda commercial programme. The value of this investment has been estimated at € 265,000,000,00.

SLJEME/MEDVEDNICA MOUNTAIN PROJECTSLJEME/MEDVEDNICA MOUNTAIN PROJECT Plans to develop tourism and sports facilities within Medvednica Nature Park have been in the pipeline for a number of years now.The Tomislavov Dom Hotel has been completely restored: the works encompassed the renovation of the interior, the redesign of the façade, the additional construction of hotel facilities and the construction of an indoor swimming pool. The total value of the works was €2,800,000.00. The most important – and also the most expensive – component of this Project will be the modernisation of the existing Sljeme Cableway. The new cableway would follow the route of the existing one, which was constructed in 1963. However, the valley station would be shifted southward, next to the tram terminal at Dolje, which would make the cableway more accessible to citizens who use public transport for their trips to Sljeme. The total value of this investment has been estimated at € 9,000,000.00.
