HONDA’S NEW CBR300R SET TO DOMINATELANDS IN JULY

Honda’s much-anticipated CBR300R is predicted to dominate the entry-level and mid range sports bike market in Australia, when it goes on sale here in July.

The new CBR300R is set to bring sports riding and affordability together like never before in the one package.

The Honda CBR300R will be available here in two models: Standard (non-ABS) in Black or Red for a Manufacturer’s List price of $5699* and the ABS model, in Black, Red or Tri-Colour for $5999*.

Honda’s pedigree and the aggressive styling of its famed CBR1000RR sports bike has been brought to a sharply-priced package that offers a list of features which will satisfy the demands of experienced or Learner riders alike.

The Japanese motorcycling giant has taken the best features of the CBR250R and made them even better.

Honda’s new CBR300R has a bigger capacity engine with improved power and torque, without sacrificing fuel economy.

As a result of the longer stroke motor the power has been increased to 22.7kW and 27Nm of torque, but technology such as low-friction engine internals means that the fuel range has been extended to 390km on a full tank* – making the CBR300R an ideal ride for country roads as well as city streets.

The riding experience has been enhanced too with improved throttle response and power delivery, and the CBR500R-style exhaust system combines functionality with the on-track style that Honda CBR owners have enjoyed for years.

Honda’s newcomer features styling is similar to what you might otherwise expect to see only on more expensive bikes, including a full-bodied fairing, swept-back seat cowl and twin headlights.

As part of the package, the CBR300R features 37mm telescopic front forks and Pro-Link monoshock rear suspension, and 2-channel ABS is offered as an option.

Both models will be in Honda Showrooms in July. See your local Honda dealer to help make your CBR300R dreams come true.

Ring 1300 1 HONDA or go to www.motorcycles.honda.com.au for more details.

*The fuel consumption figures quoted in this release are based on standardised testing conditions prescribed by WMTC. You may experience different results depending on riding conditions and the condition of the motorcycle. Price excludes on-road costs

HONDA BETTERS ITS BEST WITH NEW VFR800FHonda engineers faced a tough job when it came to developing the 2014 Honda VFR800F – how could they make one of the most acclaimed motorcycles of all time … better?

The bike that had captured an enormous following right around the world for 12 years combined a unique 800cc V-four engine in a package that was well suited to commuting during the week, touring on the weekends and doing everything with class and ease.

What Honda did was keep the same 90-degree V-four engine configuration, but update its design with the lessons learned by developing a host of road bikes, and World Champion Grand Prix racers like the famed RC213V.

Honda significantly revised the VTEC valve system to boost low and mid-range power for a smoother ride without compromising flexibility or fuel economy.

They added Honda’s TCS (Traction Control System) to make the power easier and safer to use and fitted a sophisticated 2-channel ABS as standard.

The diamond triple-box section

aluminium twin-spar frame is unchanged; however a revised die-cast aluminium subframe is 3kg lighter than the previous model. In total, kerb weight is reduced by 10kg.

Completely new are the aluminium single-sided Pro-arm swingarm and 43mm Honda Multi-Action System (HMAS) telescopic fork which have been redesigned in two pieces to accept radial-mount four-piston brake calipers.

The result is ‘Elegant Sport’, a look that, at the same time, is fresh and new but still recognisable to anyone familiar with the previous model VFR.

Then, with all that state-of-the-art engineering in place, Honda still makes it more User-Friendly.

The seat height is adjustable by 20mm; the new dashboard features digital readouts for speed, engine revs, gear position, ambient temperature, even fuel consumption and a clock, and the VFR800F has a redesigned wave key with internal grooving to reduce the chance of breakage.

The headlight is now an LED – which

is brighter and more energy-efficient than older designs. So is the rear light – which integrates the stop light and indicators as one unit

Then there are options like a range of matching Panniers and a Top Box (each with matching inner bags), so the VFR can maintain its position as one of Australia’s favourite Touring Bikes.

But even when the engineers’ work was done, there was one more Magic Trick Honda wanted to perform.

From June, Honda Dealers will sell the 2014 VFR800F at an amazing Manufacturer’s List Price of just $14,599*.

That price sounds just … Legendary.

PIONEER 500 SET TO JOIN SXS RANGE

Honda is set to offer Australians even more choice in the Side by Side (SXS) segment with the introduction of the new Pioneer 500 in October this year.

To join the existing Honda SXS range, which includes the Pioneer 700-2 and Pioneer 700-4, the new Pioneer 500 is a smaller, narrower design developed for access to all those farm tracks and trails off-limits to larger machines.

Honda’s new Pioneer 500 has taken the best features of its full-sized SXS models and put them in a smaller package.

But the Pioneer 500 will still have ample space for a passenger and offer a rear carrier able to take up to 180kg of work or leisure gear.

At the heart of the Pioneer 500 is Honda’s longitudinally mounted 475cc four-stroke engine, which features electronic fuel injection and engine management system.

Incorporating a five-speed gearbox with reverse and a LOW first gear using an electric shift system featuring paddle shifters mounted on the steering column and independent rear suspension, selectable 2WD or TraxLok 4WD, there will be few places the Pioneer 500 won’t be able to go.

With a heavy duty 450kg towing capacity, the Honda Pioneer 500 will be at home doing the hard yards on the farm.

If the weather turns bad, an optional hard top roof, together with a full windshield, will protect passengers from the elements. There is also a large range of Honda accessories to further personalise the Pioneer 500

The Honda Pioneer 500 will be available in Red from October 2014 with a Manufacturer’s List Price of $14,499.

Grand Prix winner Daryl Beattie doesn’t like sitting still. In fact the call of the outback is so strong that the former Honda favourite has a new venture in the offing – and it sounds like a lot of fun.

Australia’s Daryl Beattie on a Honda wins the German Grand Prix, his first victory in the road-racing World Championship. Three other podiums in that memorable season carry Beattie, teammate to compatriot Mick Doohan, to third place overall behind Kevin Schwantz and Wayne Rainey.

Runner-up to Doohan two years later, Beattie won three Grands Prix, ground away all the toes on one foot in a very nasty accident at Le Mans, and eventually retired from competitive motorcycle racing after six seasons in the top flight. Now he is a popular television analyst – but probably not for much longer. While he will still co-commentate on this season’s MotoGP races for the Ten Network, the 43-year-old Queenslander is in the process of re–inventing himself.“I like to change what I do every 10 years or so,” he told Honda Magazine, “and this time I’m going to combine the things I love most: bikes, the outback and the bush.”

Daryl Beattie Adventures is the latest example of Daryl’s determination to re-invent himself and by far the most spectacular to date. It also re-unites Beattie with Honda, whose 500cc machines he rode in his debut season of 1992 and alongside Doohan in 1993.

Honda has laid on six brand-new CRF450X four-stroke off-road bikes, duly kitted out with 21-litre endurance fuel tanks and Michelin all-terrain tyres, for the patrons of Daryl Beattie Adventures to enjoy.

In order to keep it simple and intimate, Beattie will limit each tour to six riders plus himself at the head of the group and a sweep rider following for safety reasons.

In 2014 he will lead these small, select bands of bikers on each of seven tours into some of Australia’s most stunning areas. The first of them began on March 27 and took in a crossing of the Simpson Desert as it made its way from Birdsville to Alice Springs.

That trip, rated at level five toughness as opposed to the level three for the Cape York rides, will see the party head due west to Wiluna, pick up the legendary Canning Stock Route to Halls Creek and finish on the shores of the Indian Ocean.Beattie believes his tours, hand-picked after a lifetime of travel in the outback, will be popular with competent riders with some dirt-bike experience – which Daryl acquired before heading off to his Grand Prix career and picked up again when that was over.

But off the bikes, life will be considerably less demanding: Beattie is also very keen on his tucker, so a hard day’s ride will be followed by good food, a coldie or two and the inevitable telling of tall tales.

Beattie has also acquired an ex-Army Unimog which will greet the group at every stop-over so that baggage, bedding and other necessities – like a shower at the end of the day – pose no problem.

GPS tracking will help them stay in touch with the outside world, while Beattie believes the social media following will be a big part of the pleasure – boosted by frequent stops to capture the sights on camera.

If you would like to be one of those others, go to www.darylbeattieadventures.com.au for further information on how to hook up with one of our greatest riders and explore the great Australian landscape.

MORE POWER FOR HONDA’S FARM WORKHORSE

Honda has launched a more powerful version of its popular and versatile XR farm workhorse.

The new Honda XR150L will replace the XR125L, and takes its best features with updates to create a package that combines rugged durability with low operating costs.

Honda’s XR150L will feature a new, larger capacity engine, which hosts a range of improvements. Its single cylinder has an increased stoke and while it makes more power, it is delivered lower in the rev range.

There’s also a new internal engine balancer which reduces vibration and will result in greater rider comfort during a hard day’s work on the farm.

Combined with the engine upgrades, Honda’s XR150L’s five-speed gearbox will deliver its hill-climbing torque more readily, resulting in both lower fuel consumption and emissions across its operational range.

The Honda XR150L is also equipped with an electric start and a backup kickstarter.

All-day rider comfort will be ensured by the redesigned seat and rubber covers on the footpegs, which can be removed for safe, non-slip riding when the terrain gets tough.

Fresh styling includes a new headlight design with protective shield; a new, higher front fender; a narrower and more comfortable fuel tank that has the same 12 litre capacity as the XR125L.

With a larger air cleaner and a sealed, maintenance-free battery, the XR150L requires less attention, with enhanced reliability and safety.

Ideal as a farm workhorse the Honda XR150L is available in Fighting Red with a Manufacturer’s List Price of $3,299.

Fresh Tracks Foundation is a registered charity that works closely with the Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney and helps young people with acquired brain injury. These young people often have no insurance and, once they leave the rehabilitation hospital, risk receiving little ongoing care.

The Community Hub at HART will form an integral post hospital component of Royal Rehab’s Return2Sports initiative. This Hub will provide easy access to recumbent trikes that will allow young people to build strength, redevelop spatial awareness and motivate them by allowing a degree of independence and fun

HART’s role in the Community Hub is to provide a safe venue for these young people who acquire brain injuries to have access to both hand and foot peddle recumbent trikes to aid in their rehabilitation. The Fresh Tracks Foundation North Shore Community Hub is a proactive, inspiring program that supports young people with brain injuries to independently achieve some of the physical goals they set for themselves. The hubs bring together business, health, council and community support.

The launch at HART St Ives was attended by number of VIPs including Hiroaki Funami, Managing Director - Honda MPE and Peter Singleton, General Manager - Honda Motorcycles. Their attendance shows Honda’s strong commitment to supporting the community and realising its social responsibility goal of being a company that is accepted by society. Other VIPs that attended the launch were: Jennifer Anderson, Mayor of Ku Ring Gai council; Paul Fletcher, Federal member for Bradfield; Jonathan O’Dea, State member for Davidson; and Stephen Lowndes, CEO Royal Rehabilitation.

The launch was also attended by local community members Kevin Luu, who is 21 years old and Liam Knight, who is 18 years old. Honda Marine Powering tHe newcastle Port

*denotes Honda Dollars. Honda Dollars available while stocks last. See in store for details.

The Port of Newcastle is one of Australia’s most diverse regional ports and one of the world’s largest coal export ports. With approximately 2,000 ship visits a year, the port provides major economic benefit to the city, the region and the state of NSW. If reliable boats were not on hand to monitor these comings and goings, and ensure safety & environmental standards are adhered to, then the lives and livelihoods of those working at the Port of Newcastle could be in trouble.

So it’s lucky that, thanks to Honda Marine and the folks at Coastal Outboards, the Newcastle Port Corporation has invested in twin Honda BF225’s to power the RV1, its response vessel. With nearly 150 million tonnes of material exported in the 2012-13 financial year alone, and with the traffic flowing in and out of Newcastle Harbour at all times, the ever-present threat of an oil slick is lessened given Honda’s reliability to get the RV1 to any incident.

The RV1 is also used as a back-up boat for the resident Pilot boat, the Brian Cecil, for cartage of pilots from ship to shore and back again. The Brian Cecil itself is also powered by twin Honda BF225’s, so there’s plenty of Honda power ready to be called on by the Newcastle Port Corporation.

Craig Jones, Dealer Principal at Coastal Outboards, says it wasn’t surprising that Newcastle Port Corporation were interested in a Honda to power the RV1. “As one of the most reliable performers in the high horsepower range,” he said, “the BF225 was a no-brainer when it came to suggesting an outboard for the RV1. With these two beauties on the back, the workers and visitors to the Port are in safe hands.”

With Formula 1 racing technology such as VTEC incorporated into the BF225’s, not to mention a large displacement V6 engine, BLAST – contributing to strong hole shot performance - and Lean Burn Control – it’s no wonder that for such an important vessel the Newcastle Port Corporation chose Honda for world-class power.

For more information about Honda’s role in the Port of Newcastle, head to Coastal Outboards, Unit 5 / 10 O’Hare Close, Charmhaven NSW. For more on the BF225, visit http://marine.honda.com.au/High_Horsepower/BF225.

MARINE

Honda Marine is proud to announce it has partnered with Australia’s newest high-profile fishing team, the XXXX Anglers. Led by ex- AFL player Peter “Spida” Everitt, the XXXX Anglers will not only photograph and film angling tournaments around the country, they will actually compete in them too.

Capitalising on the popularity of Honda Marine’s range of outboard engines, the XXXX Anglers have fitted their Suntracker boat with a Honda BF75.

Spida and his team will share their successes, their challenges and all their stories via an exciting online magazine and XXXX Anglers iPad app – all for free! Already, just a few months into the project, the crew already have close to 30,000 subscribers (including Facebook, Twitter and other social media networks). With Boat Show Season in full swing this month, that number is sure to skyrocket.

Spida is excited about this next phase in his post-football career, which follows the raging success of his TV program The Great Australian Doorstep (on Channel 7TWO), and said choosing a Honda to power the XXXX Anglers boat was a no-brainer.

“Everybody knows that Honda four-stroke outboard engines are the best going around,” he said. “The BF75 is perfect for tournament angling, which made the decision even easier. It’s quiet, offers trolling control perfect for fishing, and just like all Honda engines, it’s good for the environment.”

When it comes to the e-magazine, Spida is keen for XXXX Anglers to offer something different to the rest. “When covering these events we interview and photograph the competitors and also the event organizers/sponsors. We go inside the different fishing tournaments and hop on board the boats with all the characters, and our main aim is to feature the content that other magazines won’t put in theirs. It’s a real magazine, full of real people at real events.”

To find out more visit the XXXX Anglers website at www.xxxxanglers.com or via Facebook – www.facebook.com/xxxxanglers or Twitter - @XXXXAnglers. The XXXX Anglers iPad app is available from iTunes.

The Australian Marine Engine Council (AMEC), which includes Honda Marine, applauded the statement from Environment Minister Greg Hunt of 29 April 2014 on Ministers’ agreement to review environmental regulation, and in particular the call from both Federal and State Environment Ministers for the Department of Environment to complete its impact statement and recommendations on potential emission control options for marine engines by September this year.

Such regulations will impact and restrict further imports of high emission outboards, that means carbureted and EFI two-stroke outboards with emissions ten to twenty times the levels of four stroke outboards.

“AMEC has been committed to cooperate with the Government on practical actions that will achieve tangible results for a healthy environment and clean air. But boaters have nothing to fear. These standards will only apply to new outboards imported after the laws are passed. Nothing they own now will be affected or banned”. David Heyes, Chairman of AMEC, said.

Industry can now move forward with confidence. As Heyes explains “we have been living with uncertainly since the authorities updated the Australian Boat Building standards for heavier four strokes in 2009. I’m glad now we can move forward with certainty.”

The Government and Industry began work on emissions standards in 2006. Public Consultation was held in 2010, but since then, the final report has stalled. The fact that this report has been called by the Ministers, led by Greg Hunt, for by September 2014 is an important progress.

“The shape of the regulations we foresee is pretty clear,” according to AMEC Industry Analyst, Gary Fooks. “Since 2006 AMEC has worked to ensure that a balanced approach to reflect the USA EPA standard is applied. This is not only the world’s best standard, but governs the biggest market for outboards, which means more and better choices for Australian consumers.”

Small engine emissions standards are not just focused on the marine industry. Off-road engines from lawn mowers to petrol generators will also have to meet the new standards.

AMEC is an Australian industry-based membership council that shares a common interest of sustainable practices to provide efficient, environmentally-friendly products to consumers.

AMEC applauds Minister Hunt for progress on marine engine regulations as a key improvement for the environment

– GEORGE LABBAD, MOWING CONTRACTOR

“I could go on and on for ages about these new Honda Bualo Long Range mowers. To begin with, they have a 10% larger bag capacity, better airflow and a new chute clearing system too. That all means I can mow for much longer before I have to worry about emptying the bag. More mowing time means greater eciency – and that means more money in my pocket.”

POWER EQUIPMENT

Honda Australia MPE would like to congratulate Jeff & Lea Sander and the team at Haughton Honda for reaching the huge milestone of 50 years as a Honda dealer in 2014.

They were humble beginnings for the folks at Haughton & Co in the mid-20th century. As a Victorian-listed company dealing in animal hides and wool, a solitary outpost in Adelaide has led to one of the longest associations with Honda Power Equipment in Australia.

1964 saw Haughton & Co open a power equipment outlet, dealing directly with Honda Japan as an importer of products and spare parts for all of South Australia & Northern Territory.

After nearly a decade of this relationship, Honda MPE as it’s now

50 years!

haughton honda Celebrates

known took over this aspect of the business; the retail operation was sold off and Haughton & Co became Haughton Honda.

Since 1973, Haughton Honda has moved buildings, change owners and gone through plenty of modifications, but one thing has remained; the staff have always been friendly, helpful, and proud to be selling Honda power equipment.

Current owner Jeff Sander says one of the reasons that Haughton Honda is moving into its sixth decade is that it offers a brand of product that’s easy to sell. “Honda power equipment products are so reliable, so powerful and so user-friendly, that they practically sell themselves,” he said.

“Customers in the 1960s are no different from nowadays, in that they

will always be happy to pay for a quality, long-lasting product that will get the job done day after day. With a Honda, you know you’re getting the best.”

Honda Power Equipment Territory Manager, Peter Black, says the milestone is very impressive indeed. “We had a hunch that Haughton could be the oldest continually-operating Honda dealer in Australia,” he said.

“To be sure, we rang other long-standing Honda dealers around the country and had some help from head office, and we were right; Haughton are the oldest!”

It’s a milestone worth celebrating. Congratulations again to Haughton Honda.

POWER EQUIPMENT

If you looked at the itinerary before we left, you would have thought it was impossible to fit all that in 5 days. For most people it was 7 flights in 5 days, 3 major cities and more food and drink that anyone could deal with. It was now Hondas chance to thank over 80 of the best performing dealers in the country.

Starting off in Chongqing (pronounced ‘Chong Ching’) every one gathered at the Intercontinental hotel for a group meeting. A quick thank you to all the dealers, an introduction of all the staff and a general housekeeping by Ray Briffa & Robert Toscano was presented, ensuring everybody felt a part of the Honda group.

After everyone jumped on the buses and headed out, our first stop was the Chongqing Zoo. Housing the main attraction of the zoo, guides informed us of the different types of Pandas and how the zoo provides a valuable conservation effort ensuring certain species stay away from extinction. The Giant Pandas stole the show, relaxing in their semi-natural environment whilst providing a great photo opportunity for everyone.

To foreigners Chongqing isn’t probably a recognizable city; however the Chongqing city has the largest population in China and is famous for their Hot Pot style food. After the Zoo we stopped for lunch at a very famous Hot Pot restaurant and were treated to

HondaIncentive trip

China

entertainment.

After everyone having their first experience at a Hot Pot lunch, we arrived at the Jailing Honda Factory. We were treated to a large factory tour showing us all the stages of manufacturing from, engine smelting and casting, all the way through to the onsite test firing and endurance testing. That night the whole group flew to the more familiar Beijing and had a chance to rest up after a big day.

Day three, again jam packed, was full of history about the Beijing city and the country as a whole. The morning tour allowed everyone to explore the famous Tiananmen Square for an hour whilst preparing for the Forbidden City. Lunch was presented at the Qianmen Quanjude restaurant serving up the world’s best Peking duck; I will vouch for that! For some more history of the city we headed to the Summer Palace, the location of the Emperors ‘holiday house’ during the summer months. A group dinner at the Family Mansion Bai was very entertaining and topped off another fantastic day.

For about 90 of the dealers and staff the alarm clock went off very early, as we were down in the lobby at 5.45am, ready to travel to Xian; the home of the terracotta warriors. An absolute jaw dropping atmosphere is the home place of over 8000 terracotta soldiers and horses, found by three farmers

some 30 years ago in their quest to dig a well.

I’d love to think that day 5 was going to be a little more relaxed. Nope, this time it was shopping at Beijing’s silk factory, new Silk alley markets and Pearl markets. This was the perfect chance for everyone to buy some souvenirs for themselves, family and friends. Strangely enough a lot of the wive’s and partners were complaining of sore arms that night.

The final group dinner was something special. Without sounding cliché it is hard to explain the sights of the Great Wall of China. An afternoon walking the ever so steep Badaling section of the wall was topped off with our last group dinner at the Juyong Pass South Section. As we arrived at dusk, the Great Wall that passed through the valley was illuminated (especially for our group). One-hundred and eighty people sitting outside in a Chinese valley, perfect weather, reminiscing about their experiences over the last 5 days, talking amongst new friends; a once in a lifetime opportunity that very few people will ever get to be a part of. Treated with more great food and dancers, martial arts, and more, you couldn’t think of a better way to finish the tour.

500 BAR is considered to be a point in pressure ratings where high pressure water blasters become “hydro-blasters”. 500 BAR, 7300 psi, constitutes serious cleaning power with consequent savings in time, energy and one of the world’s most vital commodities, water.

Australian Pump, preeminent in the design and manufacture of high pressure water blasting equipment in Australia, has developed a breakthrough hydro-blaster called the Aussie Raptor 12H. Powered by a Honda 23hp-class, GX630 twin cylinder industrial engine, the new machine is built in production quantities. It represents a huge breakthrough in design, effectiveness and value for money.

“Because we made the commitment to build these machines in production quantities we are able to pull costs down. We can sell the 500 BAR machine, fully equipped and ready to go, for around AU$10,000,” said Aussie Pump’s product manager Hamish Lorenz. “We chose the Honda engine because of its fuel economy, low noise level and high torque capabilities. The Honda twin delivers loads of power to our Raptor 12 blaster and has reliability built in,” said Lorenz.

Honda’s worldwide support network means that Australian Pump can market the product internationally, knowing the engine will be fully supported by Honda agents both in and out of warranty. Certified as a Honda “GLOBAL PARTNER”, Australian Pump values the quality of the product and everything that goes along with it in terms of after-market support. “We know we can rely on the Honda brand,” said Lorenz.

The new Raptor hydro-blaster comes with a heavy duty galvanised steel frame trolley that makes it highly portable. The design is part of the unique Aussie Scud range, an award winning design that sets new standards in safety, ease of operation and flexibility. The unit is fitted with big 13 inch steel wheels with pneumatic tyres.

The heart of the system is a heavy duty triplex pump with a stainless steel head. The pump features ceramic pistons and a huge oil filled crank case for cool running even during extended operation.

“We expect the Raptor 12 in its Honda powered configuration to be a major breakthrough for users for this type of equipment who are looking for faster, more efficient cleaning. Key markets will be construction industry, earthmovers, government, slip ways and contractors specialising in graffiti removal.

The machine is supported by the Aussie Safe Operator Programme. The full range of PPE is designed to protect operators against pressures to 500 BAR. It includes overalls, aprons, jackets, trousers, boots and gloves all designed for maximum comfort and protection against pressure of up to 7,300 psi.

Further information on the Raptor hydro-blaster and associated safety equipment is available from Australian Pump Industries (www.aussiepumps.com.au) and Aussie distributors around the country.

The Aussie Raptor 12 Honda has loads of grunt even in this concrete cutting application.“

Calling all farmers – now’s the time to invest in a serious agriculture sprayer. And the young team at BA Group Australia have just what you need.

BA Group has recently released two sets of sprayers, ideal for tidying up the weeds around the paddocks or keeping boundary fences and irrigation channels clean. The Trailer Sprayer and the Deckmount Sprayer Ranges both remove any heavy lifting by the operator, yet offer the ability to spray all corners of a property.

With a UV rated poly tank and galvanised frame/chassis as the base for these units, the Trailer and Deckmount Sprayers also incorporate the finest in Italian pump manufacture from Bertolini. But what really ties these products together is the presence of the GX Series Honda engine.

SpRAyiNG THE COmpETiTiON

Based in Geelong, Daniel Peacock is the Regional Manager for Victoria, and recognises that what the Honda engines bring to these units is much more than a big name. “The GX Series engines that Honda supply us with are the best in the business for what we need”, he said.

“Knowing that no matter how remote your farm is, or how far you are from home, if you’ve got one of these units on the back of your ute, or hooked to a truck or ATV, you’re in safe hands”.

The Trailer and Deckmount Sprayers range from 200- to 1150-litre versions, offering up to 170L p/m, meaning that large swathes of land can be sprayed quickly and efficiently from the back of a ute. Both come with a heavy duty, 30-metre hose reel so there’s no heavy lifting for the operator, as well as a Teejet XP Boomjet Kit, which can cover up to 8.8 metres in width.

With 10 years’ experience in the spraying industry, Mr Peacock knows a good sprayer when he sees one. “I wouldn’t stand behind these sprayers if I didn’t believe in what they do”, he said. “The design, the components, and the reliable power that go into each BA Group Sprayer are second-to-none.”

When it comes to powerful equipment in manufacturing and servicing, the one thing that commercial and domestic users value above all others is quality. Quality of components, quality of output, and quality of life should all be high on the priority list, and when it comes to locally-built Air Compressors, the name Pilot Air stands tall.

Pilot Air has been staffed by professional, experienced staff in the service, sales and manufacture of air compressors since it was established in Sydney in 1980. Their current range taking the industry by storm is the ‘Petrol Series’, and, in particular, the K17P Ute Pack.

Built in Australia and incorporating a twin-cast iron cylinder, Italian made pump, the unit is robust, reliable and ready to perform anywhere its user needs it to be.

Tying the unit together is the all-powerful Honda GX160 petrol engine, a leader in its class and Honda’s most popular engine. The Ute Pack has been “Green & Gold Approved” by Honda – the world’s largest engine manufacturer – and as such has the backing of Honda’s 3-year engine warranty, as well as its extensive parts and servicing back-up.

Pilot’s National Sales Manager, David Svanetti, knows that when he sees a green and gold Honda sticker on his products’ petrol caps, they’ve been given a massive thumbs up. “Honda isn’t in the business of aligning their engines with any old product”, he said. “So when it labels our Petrol Series ‘Green & Gold Approved’, it’s a huge vote of confidence.

“It means that these units have been engine matched and tested to comply with Honda’s strict standards. For instance, the Ute Pack has been tested specifically with the GX160 engine to ensure that it will perform at the optimal level”.

With pull start and electric start options, the Ute Pack’s output is 308 L/Min, with a maximum pressure of 145 psi, meaning that no matter what application it’s being used for, the unit will perform. And given that it is easily mountable onto a ute tray, landowners and commercial users will be able to move the Air Compressor to wherever it’s needed.

There are plenty of generators out there powering worksites, homes and businesses across Australia. One of the leaders in the generator industry is Powerlite.

With their vast range of portable and welding generators, Powerlite is proudly Australian owned and operated. There are Powerlite branches, distributors or dealers represented in every state of Australia, not to mention complete coverage of Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands and New Zealand. Since 1964, and celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, the company has grown to become a major force in the Australian power generation industry.

With compact design frames, superior electrical performance and a lightweight build, the Powerlite range of portable generators fully complies with Australian standards, where others fall short.

As a result, they draw their power from Honda’s GX and V-Twin Ranges of engines, which provide up to 12,000 watts for any application. Available in electric and recoil starts – depending on the particular generator – the Honda factor is one that has seen Powerlite rise above its competitors in the Australian generator industry.

Ken Fackler, Powerlite’s National Business Development Manager, acknowledges the role that Honda engines play in their petrol-powered range of generators. “The fact that we’re able to call upon both the GX and V-Twin ranges of Honda engines speaks volumes for the relevance that Honda have to the Powerlite name”, he said.

“These generators range from the standard 2.2-kilowatt model, which is perfect for small power tools and lighting, to the heavy-hitting weatherproof 6.8-kilowatt model, more suitable for those large-scale jobs. The common thread is the Honda”.

Available in distinctive, fluorescent orange and yellow colours, there’s no chance that a Powerlite generator is going unnoticed on a worksite or on the land. And with a wide range of lighting towers, soft lights, load banks and accessories all under the Powerlite banner, this is a company that, after 36 year in the industry, is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Perfect for the hire industry, Powerlite’s products are sure to impress. With a Honda on board, it’s no wonder.

Honda MPE Parts Department brought 21 of the best parts staff from Honda motorcycle dealerships across Australia to Thailand in May 2014 for the Inaugural Parts Incentive Trip.

The program ran from November 2013 and ended February 2014 with all winning dealers needing to meet and exceed their set target to qualify for the program. Once qualified, dealers battled it out for the top position in their respective groups to win.

Over the course of 7 days, the winning parts staff travelled to Bangkok to visit the famous Grand Palace & the Floating Market, Honda Big Wing (a 250cc and larger specialty dealership), the Honda motorcycle factory, home of the PCX150, CBR250R, CRF250L,

CB500F, CB500X and CBR500R. They also saw the brand new CB650F and CBR650F being assembled, some of which were designated for Australian shores. After that came the Asian Parts Centre (APC) which stores and distributes Honda parts all over the world for the Asian built models.

Then it was off to southern Pattaya for a relaxing couple of days on the coast in the sun before concluding the trip and heading back to Australia.

Everyone that attended the trip was extremely impressed with the organisation and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, asking when Honda will be running the next program. So stay tuned….
