IT’S TIME TO START PLANNING FOR THE ANNUAL GARAGE SALE : It's that time of year when folks are "Spring cleaning!" - that time of year
when you find stuff that you no longer need, you no longer want to keep, you no longer have space for, or you just want to get rid of. So . . . . the United Methodist Men have a deal for you. We can help you with your dilemma. We are gathering stuff for our annual October gar-age sale. We can use furniture, household goods, tools, outdoor things, and other stuff in our garage sale.
Just call the church office (918) 825-0346 to arrange for us to pick up your stuff.
The youth were able to fill 77 health kits that were sent to Annual Conference. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Introduction-Pastor Roger E. Parker
Roger Parker was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 15,
1961. He lived there only 7 years before his father's job transferred

the Ridgecrest United Methodist Church. He also attended North-
west Classen High School, graduating in 1979, with honors in de-
bate/speech and being a letterman in baseball.
During his senior year, Roger felt a strong calling to the
ministry and went on to attend Oklahoma City University, where he
graduated in 1983, with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. Among his
honors, Roger was chosen one of two Junior Marshalls for the first
graduating class of the Wimberly School of Religion. Roger also
served as a Youth Director at the Jones United Methodist Church, in Jones, Oklahoma, from the
middle of his sophomore year at OCU until just before he began seminary in the fall of 1983.
Roger attended Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University on a merit
scholarship, graduating in May of 1987. In his third year of seminary, he did an internship at the
Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma, under the supervision of the senior
pastor, Dr. Glen O. Miller. Roger was also ordained, "Deacon", in 1985.
Upon graduation, Roger began serving churches in the Oklahoma Conference. He was
ordained "Elder" in 1989 and has served churches for a total of 29 years. He has served the past
9 years at the Laverne and Rosston United Methodist Churches.
Roger was married to Dana Hodge on August 22, 1987. Dana is also a graduate of OCU
and Perkins. Roger and Dana have two children, Katelyn, who is an OCU graduate and
Madelyn, who is presently an OCU student.
Roger has served for 25 years as a Camp Leader, 5 years as a Camp Dean, and for 2
years, has written curriculum for District Camps. He has taught in both the beginning and ad-
vanced Lay Speaking schools, 4 years in the adult school and 3 years in the youth school at

Camp news
We will be sending 11 youth and 2 leaders to Camp Egan this year and that is wonderful.
We do need volunteers to drive them to camp on Wednesday June 22nd and Come pick them up
on Sunday June 26th. Shelly Lawson and I will be already at camp preparing for the week and I
am asking for someone to take the lead on the trips there and back. Please contact me if you will
be able to drive and what day (Ph# 918-230-7152; [email protected])
I attended District camp at Egan my 5th through 12th grade years and it had meant so much
to me and building my relationship with God and it is there where I built long lasting friendships
that still exist today. It is a special opportunity that I am excited to share with our Youth here at
Pryor FUMC. There are some youth who have been before and there are some who will be going
for the first time. Please pray over these individuals who are going that they have a fun, safe
week and for God to speak to their hearts so they may get to know Him better and bring an
energizing spirit to our church.
LOCAL MISSION OPPORTUNITY FOR PRYOR MINISTRY CENTER

tions for the center.

How You can Help your Church Reach its Goals:
Be Present: Your presence in worship encourages others.
Be Praying: Ask God to make his presence real in every service.
Be Welcoming: Make sure every guest greeted warmly.
Be Inviting: Keep inviting, especially on Sundays like Mother’s Day,
Father’s Day, Cantatas and other special services.
If we do these things consistently over time, we will meet and surpass our goals of 160 in wor-
ship, and 85 in Sunday school. May we do this for the glory of Christ our Lord!

VAN FUND HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED
In December of 2015 through the dedication
and generosity of the congregation, our
church was able to pay off the debt of the
Children’s Wing.
With that in mind, members of the Board of
Trustees have decided it is time to focus on
replacement of at least one of the 15-
passenger vans. The two vans are seven-
teen and twenty-one years old and for the
safety of our children, youth and adults it was deemed necessary to begin
the search for replacements.
A VAN FUND has been started and has a balance of $21,000 at this time. If
you would like to donate toward this new endeavor please just mark your
check “van fund” or put in one of the Church envelopes and mark it ap-
propriately. The committee will begin their search for replacements
vans in the near future.
