Happy month of June! This is one of my favorite times of the year. With Memorial Day in May, Flag Day on June 14th and Independence Day on July 4th, it truly is a time to give thanks to those who fought for our freedom and to remember those who died during wartime. Please remember military veterans everywhere. I hope you’ll take it a step further and say thank you to our first responders – in the Romulus Fire Department and Police Department – who work hard every day to keep us safe. They truly are our hometown heroes. If you are available, please join in the celebration of the adoption of our U.S. Flag during a ceremony led by members of Romulus Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9568 at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, June 14th, at the Romulus Towers, 36500 Bibbins, and then across the street at the Romulus Senior Center. Finally, enjoy a barbecue at noon. Two weeks later, on Thursday, June 28th, we are looking forward to the
annual fireworks display at dusk, behind Romulus Middle School and Wick Elementary School at Wick and Ozga Roads. Thanks to our generous sponsors on presenting the fireworks. Organizers recommend early arrival to get your favorite viewing spot. Have a great month. God bless the City of Romulus and God bless America! Please, also, consider attending my third annual Community Prayer Breakfast on June 13
th.
