Celebrating our Parish Patron Saints
Feast of St. Benedict, July 11 Both parishes have a long history of being staffed by Benedictine monks and sisters. Over the years they have created a culture imbued with the Benedictine values of hospitality and prayerfulness. St. Benedict writes in his Rule that all who come to our doors are to be received as Christ himself. Prayer has always been center of the life of monks and nuns, so it no surprise that great attention and care go into the celebration of our liturgies in our parishes. My experience in both parishes is that we celebrate these values of hospitality and prayerfulness well. To celebrate the Feast of St. Benedict in Avon, you are invited to pray Evening Prayer at the Church on Saturday, June 8 at 7:00 PM. This will be a great way to ask God’s blessing on our parish as celebrate our parish festival the next day.
Together we go to God. Pax, Fr. Greg Miller, OSB
