CBM PRAYERLINE

This week we focus on three of the painful signs of brokenness in our world where God is leading his people to respond in grace and love for healing and transformation.

HUNGERPray for CBM and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank’s Good Soil campaign, which is asking for the Canadian government to increase its aid to small landholding farmers in the developing world.  1 in 9 people in the world are hungry each day. Most of them are farmers. Pray that the nutritional needs of farmers and their families would be met.  Ask that we would be diligent in advocating on their behalf.

HUMAN TRAFICKINGThis Saturday (27th), Toronto Area Baptist Women are holding a special event to raise awareness about the issue of human trafficking and will include a new musical, eXpendable, on sex trafficking in North America, written and produced by Rev. Joanna Doak. Pray that participants are encouraged to become more deeply involved in advocacy including Buying Sex is not a Sport events planned by Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec during the Pan Am Games.

HATREDWe pray for peace and God’s comfort, strength and perseverance for churches around the world who are struggling to be salt and light, especially those in the midst of wars, violence, conflict and persecution. We remember our brothers and sisters in Charleston who continue to be such a wonderful witness of God’s love, grace and forgiveness in the face of hate and racism.

Family Fun Day!

Mark your calendars - Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, July 25th from 1-5pm at Camp Tulakadik. More information to follow.

150th Anniversary Special Services. July 26th - Sunday, “VBS Sunday. “Retro Remembrances.” Oct. 18th - Sunday, Special Service with Rev. Jim Harrison.

There is a display set up in the chapel for your viewing.

Camp Tulakadik FundraiserThis year the floor in the Dining Hall has had to be redone. Thus far a breakfast was held to help offset partial cost of having the floor redone. There is still a significant amount to be paid off. We are asking you as members of Sussex Baptist to take on as a project the remainder of the cost of the floor. Whatever we raise as a church family will be matched by an anonymous donor to a maximum of three thousand dollars. In essence we could raise 6,000.00 to pay off the floor! The projected cost of the remainder of the floor payment is approximately 6,000.00. Your donations can be given to Alfie Smith, Ken Reicker or Andrew Hopper. Please make your cheque out to Camp Tulakadik. Please do not write on your cheque that this is for the floor project. If you place cash in your envelope please make sure your name and address is on the outside of the envelope so a receipt can be issued for your donation.  All money collected from the church will go directly toward the cost of the floor. Receipts will be issued by Camp Tulakadik. Please have your donations to us by the end of June.
