Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

In today’s gospel, Jesus says “…and whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little

ones to drink because the little one is a disciple — amen, I say to you, he will surely not lose his

reward.” Just a cup of cold water! If just a cup of cold water can do that, how much more would we get with some

kindness along with it? And maybe a little good will and benefit of the doubt? There’s a saying in Spanish that

goes, “Do good to others without looking at who it is!” Can you give even just a cup of cold water to someone

today? Your reward will be out of this world! Jesus has promised us so.

En el evangelio de hoy, Jesús dice "... quien diere, aunque no sea más que un vaso de agua fría a uno de estos

pequeños, por ser discípulo mío, yo les aseguro que no perderá su recompensa”. ¡Tan sólo una taza de agua fría!

Si sólo una taza de agua fría puede hacer eso, ¿cuánto más conseguiríamos si se lo damos con algo de bondad?

¿Y tal vez con un poco de buena voluntad y beneficio de la duda? Hay un dicho en español que dice: "¡Haz el

bien sin mirar a quién!" ¿Puedes darle una taza de agua fría a alguien hoy? ¡Tu recompensa estará fuera de este

mundo! Jesús nos lo ha prometido.
