We continue to pray for all who are impacted by the natural disasters this year, both the tornadoes that hit Cole, Hickory, Miller and Randolph counties this past week, and the flooding of major rivers in our Diocese. Counties impacted by that flooding include Boone, Callaway, Camden, Chariton, Clark, Cole, Gasco-nade, Howard, Lewis, Linn, Maries, Marion, Miller, Moniteau, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Osage, Pettis, Phelps, Perry, Pike, Ralls, Randolph and Saline.
Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri, an agency of our Diocese, is working with other agencies to ensure a coor-dinated and integrated network of support is provided to those affected. If you or your parish group would like to volunteer, please contact United Way at 2-1-1. It is serving as the central clearinghouse to match immediate needs with resources.
As Catholic Charities did in response to the 2017 floods, it is putting in place a process to assist those who have a very fragile safety net: people without insurance, who are not homeowners, on limited income, with disabilities, or whose livelihood has been impacted by the natural disaster. If you are interested in assisting in this effort, please consider donating to Catholic Charities’ Di-saster Relief Fund. Every dollar will be used for direct assistance of people affected by the flooding and tornadoes. You can donate online at diojeffcity.org or at cccnmo.org. Thank you for your generosity.
2020 St. Patrick School Self Study Each Catholic elementary school in the Jefferson City Diocese participates in a self-improvement process that provides for:
- a school self-study - validation of self-study findings from a visiting team - development of a long-range plan
This process is also a requirement for the accreditation process through the Missouri Nonpublic School Accrediting Association. The self study is most successful with active parish and school participation and looks at the following standards:
