Bruin Beginnings Freshmen/New Student Orientation

Wednesday, August 29th

Where: CHS gym

When: 8:20-3:00 for Freshmen/ 12:30-1:30 for NEW STUDENTS grades 10-12

August 30th—ALL students report to regular classes. Each teacher will inform students of the supplies needed for that specific class.

**Please allow extra time as you will need to pick up your textbooks at the Textbook Center when you receive your class schedule.

CHS RECOGNITION BOARD

Payments for Fines and/or Fees

Please make sure to check Power School to see if your student has any outstanding fines or fees. You may pay your fines at Capital High School only until June 14th. After that, you must pay your fines at the May Butler Center

at 55 S. Rodney. We will resume taking payments at the High School on August 15.

Free/Reduced Lunch applications.

We will accept outstanding textbooks, uniforms, library books etc. at the main office all summer. Please make sure that they are properly identified by a note with the student’s name on it. Transcript fees must be paid at May Butler during the summer from June 15-August 15. Bring your receipt to CHS office and we will prepare your transcript while you wait!

Parents of 2018-19 Juniors and Seniors!

We are looking for a few good kids to help out with Bruin Beginnings New Student Orientation in August. We need about 80 student leader volunteers to help freshmen transition into high school. These leaders should have a good attitude about high school and like to work with others. They need to be will-ing to give up two days of their time before schools starts on August 27 and August 29, one day for training and one day for Bruin Beginnings. They will work with groups of 10 freshmen and show them the ropes of Capital High. If this sounds like something your junior or senior would like to do, please en-courage him or her to fill out the attached Link Crew Application Form and turn it into Ms. Morand, room 104, right away. We need to have our crew figured out before school is out!

On April 16, Capital High students participated in the 47th annual Youth in Government Model Legisla-ture at the State Capitol. Capital Students took the reins of many leadership positions among 207 Mon-

tana students. They were elected to the following positions. Hayden Tillinger – House Majority Leader Holden Gehringer – House Majority Whip Blaise Murphy – Senate Majority Leader Supreme Court Justice – Emilie Lenoir Lea Hohenlohe – Best Supreme Court Lawyer and Best Legal Brief Thomas Penley – 3rd Party Minority Leader, Best House Bill, and elected 2019 Speaker of The House.
