Objectives • Increase awareness of both our own personal and cultural

lenses and the impact of those lenses on individuals from other groups;

• Increase sense of own cultural identity;• Expand knowledge of issues of power in cultural

dynamics;• Gain a greater awareness of how misunderstandings can

occur in cross-cultural communication and strategies to avoid them;

• Increase our knowledge of and practice of effective strategies for interrupting culturally inappropriate/offensive

• Develop a personal action plan for both continued learning and continued skill development in diversity issues that will benefit the education of all students.
