Formal education is highly instrumental and even necessary to improve the production capacity of a population.

* The K-12P is a holistic and continuous program focused at developing in its learners a belief system and set skills on lifelong learning.

* The K-12P is centered at nurturing and nourishing local knowledge that fuels global success.

* The K-12P requires the bayanihan spirit to see it through and to make it happen.

What is Information Literacy?

A set of abilities requiring individuals to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate and use effectively the needed information. (ALA, 2000)

...includes the communication of (created) information and that, the process by which information were gathered and derived from a variety of sources was done ethically and responsibly.

* IL can be integrated in the Reading or Language Subjects (even Filipino or Communication Arts content area )

* IL can be a stand alone program of the school library that can be delivered through Reference and Readers Services that spirals from preschool to high school level

* Be an IL advocate!
