REGISTRATION FORM December 1, 2014 – March 12, 2015

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE CLASSES:

After school, students enrolled in a class will go to the Daycare check-in area for their age group. They will be given a snack and checked into their Enrichment Class. At 3:15, they will be picked up by their instructor and taken to class.

Parents will pick up and sign-out their student with the teacher (not at the red cart) by 4:15 from the basketball court area. At 4:20 the enrichment class teacher will check in the remaining students to Daycare. The hourly rate of $8.00 will begin at that time for students not in Daycare Plan B or C.

There are no classes on Minimum Days or during Holiday Camps.

Some classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather and there will be no refunds for these classes.

There are not refunds or credits.

Please note that some classes have alternative start dates or class times.

Payment must accompany this registration form. All fees are non-refundable and family accounts will not be credited or prorated for missed classes. ACADEMIC ORIGAMI Instructor: Academic Chess Location: Youth Hall o Grades 2-5 on Monday o CLASS FEE: $95 for 8 week class, from 1/5 to 3/9 o Academic Chess is an outside vendor. o Academic Origami is a fun and exciting class where students will learn the Japanese art of origami along with a different

aspect of Japanese culture each week! Every student will receive an origami instruction sheet on what was covered that day. They will take home projects after every class! Students will make origami hearts, origami cups, samurai helmets, and several animals such as dogs, cats, cranes and more! They will start with easy creations and get more and more complex!!

CHESS CLUB Instructor: Academic Chess Location: Daycare Room o Grades K-2 on Wednesday o Grades 3-5 on Wednesday o CLASS FEE: $95 for 8 week class, from 1/7 to 2/25 o Academic Chess is an outside vendor. o Chess helps students to think deeply, solve problems, develop patience, compete well, visualize results and strategize and

plan. Each student will receive an Academic Chess workbook according to their own skill level. There will be opportunities to win prizes along the way. New students are always welcome. Minimum of six students required.

CUISINE CREATORS Instructor: Mrs. Sheila Dovenmuehler Location: CLC Kitchen

o Grades 6-8 on Monday o CLASS FEE: $120 o Join Mrs. D. in preparing delectable dishes to wow your family and friends. We will explore different foods, recipes and

techniques. Best of all, we will enjoy eating the food we prepare together! Join us in this exciting and fun after school class. You will have a collection of recipes to share with your family.

DANCE TEAM (1st

nd Grade Dance Team will continue throughout the year. They will be learning and performing

dance routines at school pep rallies and other school events. This is a yearlong commitment, however you will need to re-register each trimester for the class.

) Instructor: Mrs. Jennifer Colon Location: CLC Youth Hall o Grades 3-5 on Thursday from 3:00-4:00 p.m. o CLASS FEE: $115 per session o The dance team will continue to learn and perform dance routines at school pep rallies and other school events. This class

requires a year-long commitment. Students must participate in class the two weeks prior to any performance to take part in the performance. Students will need to re-register each trimester. New students are welcome this trimester but will need to pay the uniform fee of $110 and make arrangements with Mrs. Colon to order the uniform.

ENGINEERING WITH LEGO BRICKS Instructor: Brain Builders Location: Daycare Room o Grades 2-5 on Friday o CLASS FEE: $115 o 8 week class; 1/9-3/6, no class 2/13 o Brain Builders is an outside vendor. o In this fun hands-on class, students will learn the fundamentals of structural engineering and architecture while using

LEGO bricks! Students will learn concepts such as force, joints, strong shapes, and engineering fundamentals. Challenges include building a structure strong enough to survive our famous Box Cannon and seeing how strong their bridge is on our Bridge Crusher. FUN SCIENCE EXPLORATION (Grades K-1) Instructor: Miss Jessica Marquardt Location: Room 8

o Grades K-1 on Monday o CLASS FEE: $100 o Discover how much fun Science can be! In this hands-on class students will have the opportunity to explore the fun and

interesting world of science through hands-on learning activities. Instilling a love of science and the world God created is the goal of this class. Class size is limited.

GYMNASTICS EXPRESS Instructor: Mrs. Sally Parr Location: CLC Fellowship Hall o Grades K-2 on Friday o CLASS FEE: $135 o Gymnastics Express is an outside vendor. o Come and join the Gymnastic Express for a nine week long class. Learn beginning to intermediate skills on the low beam,

bars, tumbling and vaulting. Each student will learn a short tumbling/floor exercise routine as well as a routine on the balance beam. Class is limited to 12 students.

KIDS’ MARATHON Instructors Mrs. Monica Sharp/Ms. Kristin Wallace Location: Playground o Grades K-5 on Wednesday o CLASS FEE: $150 o This 16 week class starts January 7

o The “Kids Run The OC” Training Program was designed to help kids become more physically fit, promote an active and healthy lifestyle. . . while having fun! This is accomplished through various games which help improve speed, agility, hand/eye coordination, flexibility, nutrition, and your child's overall fitness. By the end of the program each student will have accumulated the equivalent of 25.2 miles of fun activity, and will be ready to finish their own Marathon by completing their final mile at the Kids Run the OC held in conjunction with The OC Marathon finish line events at the OC Fair on Saturday, May 2, 2015. The online registration cost for the OC Marathon run of $29 is in addition to the RHLS fees and parents must register their own children. This class is for Trimesters 2 & 3.

KID CHEFS Instructor: Mrs. Sheila Dovenmuehler Location: CLC Kitchen o Grades 1-2 on Friday o CLASS FEE: $120 o Kid Chefs, a cup of that, a pinch of this; you will not want to miss this exciting cooking class after school with Mrs. D! Using

recipes, you’ll chop and peel, mix and stir to create fun different foods while learning to read a recipe. Join Mrs. D for a cooking adventure. We will even connect each recipe to the Bible, God, and His Son Jesus!

LEAGUE SPORTS BOYS’ BASKETBALL Coaches: Mr. John Dovenmuehler/Mr. Chase Martin Location: Playground o Boys, Grades 5-8 from Tuesday to Friday (practice begins 12/5 and game schedule forthcoming) o REGISTRATION FEE: $120 o Players will participate in regular conditioning, learn basketball skills and the principles of the game, as well as demonstrate

good sportsmanship. League sports include competitive play against other Lutheran schools both away at other school campuses and at our home basketball court. Players will use school-owned uniforms. Players are expected to attend all practices and games. All players will have ample opportunity to play in games. Our goal is to expose students to various sports and instill a love of the game. Although winning is fun, it is not the ultimate goal, and ALL STUDENTS are encouraged to go out for the team! Parents are needed to drive our players to away games. The registration fee includes trophy, uniform rental, coaches’ fees, league fees, and referee fees.

o Daycare fees will be incurred after the last day of the season.

MASTERPIECE ART Instructor: Mrs. Tricia Collins Location: CLC Staff Lounge o Grades 3-5 on Wednesday o CLASS FEE: $115 o Mrs. Collins, our beloved Meet the Masters teacher, will continue to teach her fabulous art class that stimulates a child’s

imagination. This class is a creative, hands-on experience full of fun and color. The children will experiment with lots of different art media including paint, oil pastels, collage, chalk, and much more. The class will build student confidence in using a variety of creative techniques and processes.

MASTERS OF THE FIELD Instructor: Academic Chess Location: Playground

o Grades K-2 on Tuesday o CLASS FEE: $ 95 for 8 weeks, from 1/6 – 2/24 o Academic Chess is an outside vendor. o Masters of the Field is a game similar to Capture the Flag, where students need to run across the field without getting

tagged, bring back pieces of a puzzle and then put it together as a team! There will be math, spelling, and logic puzzles. This fun outside activity allows children to learn strategy, team work, focus, and academic skills while getting a work-out!

RHLC CHILDREN’S CHOIR Instructor: Mrs. Laura Ann Madott Location: Church Sanctuary o Grades 1-5 on Tuesday o CLASS FEE: N/A o The Red Hill Lutheran Children's Choir will meet Tuesday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:15 in the Church Sanctuary. The choir

will offer its musical gifts at the Sunday 8:30 a.m. service about every six weeks as well as on holidays and special events. This ministry opportunity will help develop your child's singing voice in order that they can share their special gifts and talents in worship to the Glory of God. There is no better sound than children's voices singing praises to our Risen Savior - what an awesome way to proclaim God's great love! Students will be picked up from daycare at 3:10 by Mrs. Madott. Parents will then pick up their students in the church sanctuary at 4:15 sharp. Students not picked up will be checked into daycare and parents will be charged the hourly daycare rate. Children's Choir is directed by Laura Ann Madott, a music educator for over 20 years and a graduate of California Lutheran University

SOCCER SHOTS Instructor: Soccer Shots Location: Playground o Grades K-2 on Thursday o CLASS FEE: $130 o Classes start on 12/11 and ends on 3/5 o Soccer Shots is an outside vendor. o Soccer Shots is a fun and innovative program for 5-8 year olds that emphasizes both soccer skills and character skills by

using imaginative games that children love. Each session incorporates basic soccer skills, creative games, the word of the day, and fun fitness activities as well as coordination, balance, and agility development.

TAEKWONDO (Grade 2-5) Instructor: Taekwondo USA o Grades 2-5 on Tuesday Location: Daycare Room o CLASS FEE: $130 o Taekwondo is a dynamic and challenging approach to the martial arts for children who are athletic or awkward, shy or bold.

It helps children to become more self-confident as they progress individually at their own pace and are not judged against others. The program helps kids learn skills, such as following directions, paying attention in class, and participating in class activities that help them to become better students. Taekwondo challenges the entire body, developing coordination, balance, agility and poise. It also teaches children to think instead of panic in potentially serious situations. Students may bring sweats and a t-shirt to change into after school.

TUTORING RHLS Teachers as available Location: TBA o Grades K-8 o FEES: Private tutoring (one student with one teacher) is $35 per hour, per week. o RHLS teachers are available for tutoring on a first-come, first-served basis. Confirmation of tutorial assignment (teacher,

location, subject, and type of tutoring) must be provided BEFORE services begin. Exact payment must be made in advance of each session to the school office. If payment is not received, the tutoring session will NOT take place.

o Tutoring cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to scheduled tutoring session or you will be charged for the missed session.
