HAMPTON GALLERY — The 23rd Annual LOCALS ONLY Competition & Exhibit — Featuring artists from the Lenoir County Artist League. This Umbrella Organization of the Community Council for the Arts is celebrating

50 years along with the Arts Center! Winners of the 23rd Annual LOCALS ONLY Competition and Exhibition were announced Tuesday,

November 15, during the Business After Hours Reception.

Judging this year’s event was BOB RANKIN, who is a North Carolina artist and teacher. Bob creates representational, abstract and mixed

THE KENNETH & KRISTI BLIZZARD GALLERY — Artists of ART105 — This exhibit features work from artists who rent a studio space and sell their work at

ART105, formerly Overland Gallery. This open concept venue allows the public to view

artists as their work is being created and provides an opportunity for visitors to meet

artists and purchase artwork onsite. ART105 is located at 105 W. Blount Street in

MINGES GALLERY & RAYNER GALLERY — Local Art — Paintings created by art students in Bettie Saville’s painting

class at the Lenoir County Council on Aging, Inc. The class meets from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thursdays, at the Skinner

Senior Center, 112 East Blount Street. Classes are free; there is a cost for art supplies. Visitors are welcome. For more

Participants in this exhibit include:

Ginger 108 features rotating displays of artwork

from various regional and local artists. This

eclectic Southern grill fuses cuisine from

Eastern and Western cultures and is located at

108a W. North Street in Kinston.

The O’Neil features rotating displays

of artwork from various regional and

local artists. This historic luxury hotel

is located at 200 N. Queen Street in

Kinston.

Stop by and visit Queen Street Deli which

features the artwork of local artists. The

Queen Street Deli is located at 117 S. Queen

Street in Kinston.

Congratulations to ALAN HAWKINS, from Kinston, North Carolina. He is the December Visitor of the Month. His name was drawn for

The 36th Annual CCA National Competitive Exhibition is scheduled for February 9, 2017

through March 25, 2017. This Competition is open to all U.S. artists, 18 years and older.

The judge for this year’s event will be BOB RANKIN, an accomplished teacher and

award-winning artist from Raleigh, North Carolina. Accepted entries must arrive at the CCA

by 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Submitted, but unaccepted works, are eligible

for exhibition and must be received at the CCA by 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017. A Reception

will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. All accepted works will be displayed in the

First Floor Main Gallery (Hampton Gallery) and all unaccepted works will be displayed in the Second Floor

Galleries. Four (4) Cash Place Awards and five (5) Non-cash Merit Awards will be presented. Awards will be

posted on our website www.kinst oncca.c om . Friday, February 10, 2017. Please ship or hand-deliver

to create work. Critique of individual work will be the
