MARKET REPORT FOR DECEMBER 18, 2013 From Williams Lake, Kamloops and the

WILLIAMS LAKE SALE - TUESDAY DECEMBER 12, 2013 Well Williams Lake stock yard finished the year in grand style with another huge

pen of top quality calves plus an excellent run of butcher cows set the pace for

1000 head!

Congratulation to Wilf, Wade and the crew at Williams Lake as they teamed

up to give BC Livestock a 20% increase in head numbers for Williams Lake

this year!!

The video sales started this sale with the Bar K Ranch who brought a liner load of

butcher cows from Prince George, for January 7th delivery, 45 head of 1450 lb

cows notched 74.50. Allan Fridlington from Kersley was also on video with a pen

of 1057 lb steers trading to 130.00, his pen of 10 heifers at 992 lbs hit 123.25. The

Gang Ranch today built a fire under our calf trade with a powerful bunch of

calves. 22 head of their 414 lb Black Angus s/c raced to 194.50, 65 head of their

443 lb Black Angus marked 188.50. A straight liner load of 130 Black Angus h/c,

pre-conditioned since Oct. 20 hit 156.00 and weighing in at 437 lbs. The Douglas

Lake Ranch, Alkali Lake Ranch Division filled the r ing with 80 Black Angus

h/c at 527 lbs racing to 148.00. Chris & Christina Johnson with a good pen of 538

lb s/c notching 161.00. Scott McLeod’s 340 lb s/c topped 185.00, his 445 lb s/c

sold to 176.00. Mike Lepetich of Quesnel saw his 554 lb black s/c reach 175.00,

the 653 lb s/c rolled to 158.75. Bruce & Linda McLean had 630 lb s/c trade to

156.00 and 545 lb s/c hit 164.00. Susanne Langan with another top pen of calves

453 lb s/c hit 164.00. The Bar K Ranch today set a ring full of 56 open heifers

770 lbs and fancy, they traded to 137.00. Butcher cows were strong again today

Barker Creek Ranch’s 1400 lb kill cows brought 69.75.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone from Wilf, Wade and

the crew here at the Williams Lake Stockyards. The next sale here in the new

year is Thursday February the 13th

KAMLOOPS SALE - TUESDAY DECEMBER 17, 2013 The last sale for the year here in Kamloops saw another 450 head of cattle

march through the sale ring. Butcher cows and bulls by far made up the

sales receipts, although a good supply of calves were available and strong.

The Bar M Ranch, Trace Deboer set a strong pace on the butcher cows

with today with 1449 lb cows hitting 68.50. The Ashcroft Ranch with 2 lin-

er loads of cows, their young 1038 lb heiferettes traded to 77.00, with the

heavy cows 1394 lbs trading to 70.75, their pen of heavy cows and late cal-

vers brought $1060 per head. Bill & Lil Cook and Kendra Cook built a fire

to our calf trade and the buyers loved their calves. The fancy blk & red An-

gus 736 lb h/c notched 140.50, $1034.08 per head.

Devick’s Ranch tested our bull trade with 1956 lb butcher bulls mark-

ing 82.75. Matt Pasco’s 780 lb Angus s/c hit 144.00, the 540 lb h/c reached

144.00 and the 575 lb s/c sold to 155.50. Doug Schunter of Lumby saw his

1535 lb kill cows top 71.75. Bev McDonald’s 705 lb heifers sold to 138.50.

John & Anne Grawehr of G Tr iangle Ranch had 600 lb red s/c hit

155.50, the 500 lb s/c topped 169.50. Robert Bach of Barrier had 728 lb blk

s/c hit 149.00. The Quesnel Ranch from Lumby had 440 lb s/c top 174.00.

Monte Creek Ranch had some 470 lb black h/c hit 146.50. Jack Steiger’s

575 lb s/c reached 159.75.
