Attached is the latest listing by the State Real Estate Appraisal Board of individuals
licensed or certified to do appraisals in Kansas. The individuals are listed by city then
by certification. Should you have any questions regarding the list, do not hesitate to

This listing should replace the one that was dated January 7, 2013.
Below are the various categories of appraisers and what types of appraisals they are
qualified to perform according to the banking regulators.
STATE LICENSED REAL PROPERTY APPRAISER
This type of license is identified by an L- followed by digits.
The licensed classification applies to the appraisal of non-complex one to four residential units
having a transaction value less than $1,000,000 and complex one to four residential units
having a transaction value less than $250,000. The licensed classification also includes the
appraisal of vacant or unimproved land that is utilized for one to four family purposes and
where the highest and best use is for one to four family purposes. It does not include the
appraisal of subdivisions wherein a development analysis or appraisal is necessary and
utilized.
CERTIFIED RESIDENTIAL REAL PROPERTY APPRAISER
This type of license is identified by an R- followed by digits.
The residential classification applies to the appraisal of one to four residential units without
regard to transaction value or complexity. The residential classification also includes the
appraisal of vacant or unimproved land that is utilized for one to four family purposes and
where the highest and best use is for one to four family purposes. It does not include the
appraisal of subdivisions wherein a development analysis or appraisal is necessary and
utilized.
CERTIFIED GENERAL REAL PROPERTY APPRAISER
This type of license is identified by a G- followed by digits.
The general classification applies to the appraisal of all types of real property.
STATE LICENSED PROVISIONAL REAL PROPERTY APPRAISER (TRAINEE)
This type of license is identified by a P- followed by digits.
The provisional licensed classification applies to the appraisal of the properties which the
supervising appraiser is permitted to appraise.
