Preface
We are pleased to present this 45th Edition of the Kansas Statistical Abstract (KSA). The KSA is compiled and published annually by The University of Kansas Institute for Policy & Social Research (IPSR). The KSA Editorial Board thanks Larry Hoyle, senior scientist, IPSR, for his assistance with the KSA. We also thank IPSR student assistant Cassi Fitzgerald, who provided assistance with data entry and table preparation. The Kansas Statistical Abstract was indexed by Mary Mortensen Indexing Services, Lawrence, Kansas. Many agencies provided data for the KSA and we thank them all for making the data available. Sources for each table or graphical representation are noted herein. Finally, we hope this edition of the Kansas Statistical Abstract will serve as a valuable resource. Please let us know if there are ways we can increase its value. On behalf of the Editorial Board,
Susan M. Mercer, Project Leader Associate Director Institute for Policy & Social Research
