Karlovy Vary Czech Republic

Karlovy Vary (German: Karlsbad; English: Carlsbad) is a spa city situated in western Bohemia, Czech Republic, on the confluence of the rivers Ohe and Tepl, approximately 130 km (80.78 miles) west of Prague.It is named after King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, who founded the city in 1370. The town is well known for its hot springs (13 main springs, about 300 smaller springs, and the warm-water Tepl River) and the annual film festival, one of the oldest and most recognized film festivals in the world.Karlovy Vary (n german: Karlsbad; n englez: Carlsbad) este un ora balnear situat n Bohemia de Vest, Republica Ceh, la confluena rurilor Ohe i Tepl, la aproximativ 130 de km (80.78 mile) vest de Praga. Este numit dup Regele Boemiei i mprat Roman Sfnt Charles IV, care a fondat oraul n 1370. Oraul este renumit pentru izvoarele termale (13 izvoare principale, aproximativ 300 de izvoare mici, i rul cu apa cald Tepl ) i pentru festivalul anual de film, unul dintre cele mai vechi festivaluri din lume.
