    1 General hints This product catalogue describes the most important components of the Integral IP fire alarm system, thereby representing a mere fraction of our very extensive range of products. All information which is not contained in this catalogue is available upon request at any time from one of our offices. All Schrack fire alarm systems are developed in Austria and constitute the technological state-of-the-art and the latest scientific findings, whilst observing the currently enforced standards (European standards, fire brigade specifications, and certification from European Testing and Certification Centres etc.). Schrack Seconet frequently cooperates with technical universities and international companies, as well as with testing and accreditation centres, fire prevention centres and fire brigade associations, so that our products can be constantly improved and adapted to meet new demands. Our employees are active in all important national and international bodies (such as CEN, DIN, ON, VB etc.). Schrack Seconets high quality is documented in a quality management system, which has been certified in accordance with ISO 9001 for all the companys divisions. The planning of fire alarm systems as well as the installation, commissioning and maintenance of products and the systems which they form required specialist expert knowledge, and therefore may only be undertaken by specially trained experts. The product-specific training of staff members must be carried out by Schrack Seconet or by people who have been specifically authorised to carry out this duty by Schrack Seconet. In addition to this, the currently applicable country-specific regulations and guidelines for the planning, construction of and use of the products must be observed and complied with without fail. Damage and consequential damage which have been caused due to interference or modifications made to our products or by improper handling of them are excluded from liability. The same is also true for inappropriate storage of items or other detrimental external factors. We would explicitly like to point out that the fire alarm system must be periodically serviced in accordance with the respective relevant standards (e.g. NORM F 3070, DIN 14675 etc.), in order to also ensure that the system's range of functions and protective scope is also maintained in the long term.     2 Modular control panels Integral IP MX The Integral IP MX system is a modular, decentrally constructed system, comprising of individual components, and is programmed and configured according to the individual requirements. The system can be deployed as a fire alarm control panel, as a multizone extinguishing system or as a combined fire alarm control panel and extinguishing system. A detailed description of the system is contained in the "Integral IP MX System Description" document, a system overview can be found in chapter 10.

    Complete redundancy

    One of the main features of the system is its complete, intelligent redundancy. This means that not only is the microprocessor structure duplicated, but all system structures, components and electronic elements in the control panel are present in duplicate. The occurrence of a fault in the active system causes the system to be automatically switched over to the second system running in parallel and for a system fault to be indicated. All functions, such as detection, triggering of alarms, plain text indication and controlling of fire alarm devices etc. remain unaffected by this occurrence. The data circuits to the external operating panels and the connections between the subcontrol units are also present in duplicate, in order to also guarantee in all instances that the system remains fully functional even in the event of wire breaks or faults. Subcontrol unit

    The fire alarm control panel comprises of 1 to 16 subcontrol units, which are spread around the building as required. The system is operated in a clear manner from a single location, with the system operating, despite its decentralized construction, exactly like a traditional centralized fire alarm control panel. The interconnection of several subcontrol units to a single fire alarm control panel is known as an Integral LAN. Integral LAN and Mesh Network

    In the Integral LAN mesh network, multiple connections are established between the individual control panels, in order to ensure, even in the event of connection faults that might occur, that every device still continues to have a connection to the network. The completely freely selectable topology of the cabling allows the mesh network to be adapted optimally to suit the physical configuration of the building. There are network modules with different interfaces (RS485, optic fibre, DSL) available for the Integral LAN, thereby making external modems and converters a thing of the past. The Integral IP control panels can be directly connected to the IT infrastructure of a building, with access via Intranet or Internet being possible without requiring any additional effort. Various parallel indicator tableaux or superordinated centralized indication devices may, as long as they are not dedicated to alarming the emergency services, use the existing communications paths of the PC networks. SecoNET Network

    Every Integral LAN is suitable for connection building management systems and field buses. If more than 16 subcontrol units are required, then Integral LANs are connected to the SecoNET Fire Alarm Network. In the SecoNET, all connected fire alarm control panels (Integral, Integral IP MX, Integral IP CX, Integral LAN, etc.) are configured separately from one another, and furthermore, in every SecoNET device, there is an interface set aside for SecoNET. A standardised interface protocol is used for connecting control systems produced by different manufacturers with one another, which allows the connection to occur with the device functioning fully. Length of wires

    The distance between two Integral IP MX or Integral IP CX control panels may be up to 1200 metres. Neither repeaters nor other additional devices such as modems are required, and only the types of cable used and the environmental factors must be observed. In special cases - where the distance has to be greater than 1,200 metres - then additional external transmission equipment can be used.

    External Operating Panels & Devices Bus

    External operating panels and devices and connected to the control panel via the MMI BUS. Up to 8 devices can be connected to this serial data bus - without using any additional devices e.g. repeaters etc. - located up to 1200 metres away from the control panel. Data communication uses redundant digital communication circuits, with the devices being able to be used in any possible combination regardless of the devices locations. For safety reasons the data circuit as well as the power supply circuit are both fully redundant. Moreover all internal and external Integral MAP operating panels and the Integral PIP indicator panel have an EPI-BUS interface. Up to 3 non-redundant indication and operating devices can be connected to this data bus and can be located up to 1 metre away. Max. 15 devices can be connected per MMI BUS, of which there may be a maximum of 8 MMI bus devices.

    Overvoltage protection

    The Integral IP system is fitted with a comprehensive integrated overvoltage protection concept, which protects all peripheral inputs, including the power supply in accordance with EN50130-4 (EMC) and EN50082-2 (interference in industrial use). The EMC protection concept involves the deployment of measures such as a zonal concept, tranzorb diodes, filters and broadband decoupling of the power supply to protect the electronic devices. As a result, no additional measures, e.g. an overvoltage arrester etc. are required for operation within building where heavy- and medium-duty protection is installed (protection against lightning strikes, supply side overvoltage arrester).

    2.2 Controller unit for multizone extinguishing systems Integral IP MXE Due to the special redundancy concept and the particular degree of safety that it provides for the widest range of usages, the Integral IP MX system can able be used as an Integral IP MXE extinguishing system control panel (electronic control and delay unit) or as a combined Integral IP MXF/MXE fire alarm and extinguishing system panel. For this purpose, various types of cabinet are available, which contain an additional LED parallel indicator panel. As a result of this enhancement in accordance with standards and directives EN 12094-1 and VdS 2496, the Integral IP MXE is now suitable and approved for use for controlling and monitoring the following types of fire extinguishing systems: CO2 high and low pressure extinguishing systems where life is or is not endangered.     2.3 Integral IP MX in Floor Standing Cabinets For housing up to five Integral IP MX subcontrol units in a space-saving single case there are special control panel components available that can be fitted into 19 inch floor standing cabinets. This option is available for various different uses, such as for modernising of existing older systems, for extinguishing controllers with several indicator panels or where space confinements do not permit any other option.

    Integral IP MX floor standing cabinet Floor standing cabinet (40 height units) with a full-length glass door and a tipping frame opening either from the right or the left. Each floor standing cabinet contains all the cable channels and drilling holes to be expanded to include up to five subcontrol units. The module rack is fitted on to the back wall of the cabinet, and can as was always previously the case be modularly fitted with the relevant modules depending on the structure required. The tipping frame contains operating panels and blanking plates on the front side and on the back side contains compartments for storing the batteries. All floor standing cabinets are shipped completely prewired, equipped and installed in accordance with the customers wishes. The module racks are pre-wired as Integral LAN or subcontrol unit loops.     2.4 Integral IP MX Modules All modules and components of the Integral IP MX system are constructed redundantly for system availability reasons, which also guarantees in the event of a fault that indication information, signal processing and the controlling of all connected fire alarm devices is ensured. The module rack is attached to the back panel of every entry level Integral IP MX as contains, as standard, the B5-MCU main processor unit and the B5-PSU power supply unit. Eleven further push-in connection slots can be fitted with additional flat modules as required. This modular structure also allows various line technologies (loop and stub lines) to be connected to a single control unit.

    The power supply and data communication between the individual modules is carried out using the bus circuit boards, which are located on the back of the module rack using plug and socket connections.

The built-in main processor unit with integrated power supply unit contains all the interfaces for connecting peripherals with the lower area of the case containing space for fitting two 7.2 Ah batteries. Fire brigade control panels and remote external indicator panels are connected over the EPI-bus, and a 100 Mbit-TX LAN interface can be used for remote access to the control panel.
