The Digestive systems main job is to Digest food And put it into waste and give the body nutrients
The Mouth
• The mouth chews and swallows food
• Salvia breaks down the food that your teeth have chewed
• Then you swallow
• The mouth is like a school entrance because children go through the doors like food goes through the mouth
tongueteeth
Esophagus
• The esophagus brings the food that your teeth have chewed and your saliva broke down to the stomach
• The esophagus is like a hallway because the esophagus brings the food to the stomach and a hallway brings children to their classroom
The stomach
• The stomach starts digesting the food while taking it to the small intestine
• Homeroom is like the stomach because homeroom starts the day off just like the stomach starts the digesting of the food
The liver
• The liver takes the good stuff in the partially digested food and turns it into energy that you use to do things
liver
• We compared the liver to a computer Tower because a computer Tower filters good and bad info and the liver filters good and bad food
Small Intestine
• In the small intestine nutrients from the food that the stomach started to digest are absorbed in the blood
• We compared the small intestine to breakfast club because the small intestine gives the blood all the nutrients from the food and breakfast club gives you nutrients for the day
Large Intestine
• The large intestine takes chemicals that were absorbed in the small intestine and turns them into chemicals that the body can use later
• We compared the large intestine to detention because detention keeps bad people in and good people out just like the large intestine keeps good nutrients in and bad out
Pancreas
• The pancreas controls the amount of sugar in the blood
• We compared the pancreas to the school secretary because she controls the amount of payment the teachers get like the pancreas controls the amount of sugar in the blood
Rectum
• The Rectum Passes Waste on
• We compared the rectum to the exit because the rectum passes the food out and the exit of the school takes the kids out
The Nervous systemThe Nervous Systems Main job is to Control the things you do
The Brain
The Cerebrum
• The Cerebrum controls what you think say and other clever things
• We compared the cerebrum to Mr. Mullin because Mr. Mullin controls the school just like the cerebrum controls what you think, say and stuff like that.
Cerebrum
Cerebellum
• The Cerebellum tells you what to do and controls your coordination
• We compared the cerebellum to the announcements because the announcements tell you what is going on that day and the cerebellum tells you what to do any time
Thalamus
• The Thalamus is your alertness/awareness you have three choices freeze, run away or fight
• We compared the thalamus to a fire alarm because fire alarms alert you when there’s a fire just like the thalamus alerts you when there’s trouble
Thalamus
Brain Stem
• The Brain Stem Controls your breathing, heartbeat and blood pressure
• We compared the Brain Stem to the air intake room because the air intake room takes air from outside and brings it into your classroom just like the brain stem controls your breathing
Brain Stem
The Digestive And Nervous System
• The Digestive and Nervous system are alike because the Nervous System controls your movement and the Digestive System controls putting food to waste giving the body nutrients
• The Brain sends message to different origins to work
