Katie’s Talent Show Greek Week FTK
Event Description
As a part of the Bulls for Kids Greek Relations committee, I had an event to plan earlier this semester during Greek Week FTK. Greek Week FTK was a week of events spanning from Nov. 2-5 tailored to members of Greek life at USF to help raise awareness and money for All Children’s Hospital. Each committee member on the Greek Relations Committee was assigned a specific event to plan. My event was the last and largest event of the week with over 150 attendees and 10 talent show acts, Katie’s Talent Show.
My Role
I co-planned this event with another committee member. My role was the logistical planning of the event while my event planning partner’s role was to communicate with and manage the performers in the talent show. I created the event structure, helped secure the venue and other materials, and was the key point of contact for the Marshall Student Center staff for the event plan. On the day-of show, I executed the event and helped managed Bulls for Kids staff.
Event Purpose
The purpose of the event was to celebrate the end of fundraising for the week, showcase talent in the Greek community, encourage members of Greek to continue being involved with Bulls for Kids, help them relate to the cause, and announce the talent show winners and overall winners for the Greek Week FTK competition.

Content Descriptions
1. Event Graphic
This was the graphic used for all marketing efforts for the event. It was posted on Bulls for Kids social media, handed out as fliers, hung on public bulletin boards, and attached to A-frame displays.
2. Matrix of Events
The Matrix of Events outlines the order of events that occurred before, during, and after the talent show. It also served as a staffing plan to let Bulls for Kids know what staff was needed and what they needed to do day-of the event.
3. Talent Show Script
This is the script for the day-of show, used by the emcees of the show as well as guest speakers. The Marshall Student Center technical crew also used this script to be aware of what talent act was going when for music and lighting cues, and when to change the PowerPoint slides.
4. Event PowerPoint
This is the the PowerPoint projected behind the stage during the talent show.

Bulls For Kids is a part of a nation-wide movement known as Dance Marathon that

brings college campuses together to impact the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Bulls For Kids and participants work year-round to raise money for the kids at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.
100% of all the money we raise goes toward the hospital’s biggest expenses for the year—the things they need most to continue to help make these children’s lives better.”

Some of the performers in this talent show had the opportunity to visit the hospital earlier this week and were able to see the programs and services All Children’s Hospital provides that have helped Katie and her family become resilient against her medical condition.
Katie and her family are with us tonight (ask family to stand and wave)
