KC STUDIO and KCPT: ARTS UPLOAD PARTNERSHIP
KC Studio and KCPT are engaged in a content partnership that includes coordinating video and written stories in each issue of the KC Studio Magazine, each season of Arts Upload, and digital video shorts on FlatlandKC.org.
Editorial decisions are made between the editor of KC Studio, Alice Thorson, and the Executive Producer of KCPT’s Arts Upload, Randy Mason.
Alice’s experience includes 23 years as art critic for the Kansas City Star and as managing editor of the New Art Examiner in Chicago and Washington, D.C. After earning a master’s degree in art history at Northern Illinois University, she continued her graduate studies at the University of Chicago, spending two years in the art history Ph.D. program on a full tuition fellowship. She has taught courses in art history and contemporary art at the University of Illinois, Chicago; the Corcoran School of Art and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and contributed articles and reviews to Art News, Art in America, the Washington City Paper and the Washington Times, where she was a gallery columnist.
KC Studio’s editor Alice Thorson leads an expert team of writers in visual art, dance, music, theater, film and literary arts in Kansas City.
