Phase II
Project Objective
Improve the technical level, energy efficiency, reliability
and stability of Kazakhstan UPS operation
Location Kazakhstan National Power Grid
Project provides for
Stage I - Upgrading and replacement of high voltage
equipment at 55 substations of Kazakhstan National
Power Grid which have not been included in the scope
of Phase I of the Project.
Stage II - Construction of 220 kV Shu – Zapadnaya
OHTL, 256.6 km, and Burnoye – Tulkubas OHTL, 60
km.
Project value: $ 346.7 million (EBRD - € 255 million plus company's funds)
Implementation period: 2010-2016
Alma Electricity Transmission Project
Objective
•Improve reliability of power supply and cover of power demand of Almaty
city and Almaty region consumers;
•Power delivery from Balkhash TPP (1320 MW)

Project provides for:
• Construction of 500/220/110 kV Alma SS including 2 AT, 500 MVA
each
• Rehabilitation and extension of 500 kV Almaty SS and 500 kV
YuKGRES SS
