It is already the tenth anniversary of our summer seasonexhibition, Art on the Beach. For this fourth edition, ourgallery and the Commune of Ramatuelle have decided toorganize, for the first time, a one-person show.
With the collaboration of Galerie Jérôme de Noirmont, wewill present more than a dozen sculptures by the Americanartist Keith Haring.
This selection of sculptures includes monumental worksalready presented in 1997 by New York City’s Public ArtFund along Park Avenue. Others will be exhibited in publicfor the first time. All are representative of the techniqueHaring used in his large-scale sculptural work: painted steeland aluminum.
In addition to the figurative sculptures, we will exhibit a con-vertible BMW Z1, customized by the artist, and the TokyoPop Shop, two hand-painted shipping containers whichconstituted the Tokyo branch of Haring’s retail store, andwhich has not been exhibited since its dismantling sixteenyears ago.
We want to thank the Town Hall of Ramatuelle and thePrefecture of the Var for the support they have provided ussince the initiation of Art on the Beach.Additionally, these exhibitions would never have been pos-sible without the enthusiastic participation of the beachproprietors along the bay of Pampelonne, and the V.I.P.Room of Cannes and Saint Tropez.
As with the previous exhibitions, a catalogue of more than130 pages will pay tribute to the history of Art on the Beach, reproducing the works, the adventure of their installationand their in-situ presentation.
