I interviewed Ms. Jennings about the run club.
Q: What motivated you to start a running club for teachers after school?
A: I ran in a running group on my own in the club “Black Girls Run” (BGR)
and Mr. Fox was also another runner and wanted to start a group for
teachers at school.
Q: Do you like running? Do you like exercising too?
A: I like the results you get from running, great cardio and weight loss. Yes
I like exercising too. I work out three times a week.
Q: Do you only run outside of school too? If so, how long do you run?
A: Yes, I run in a club called “Black Girls Run” (BGR). Some days I run 30
minutes, other days I run an hour.
Q: Do you like the running program?
A: I love it. We all motivate each other.
Q: How many people have joined the club? What are the teacher’s names?
A: 7 teachers
total: Myself, Ms. Streeter, Ms. Melton, Ms. Machado, Mrs. Hernandez,
Mrs. Colzie, and Mrs. Torres-Pino
Quotes from teachers who participate in running club: Ms. Streeter: “It
looked like a fun way to exercise with friends. It’s not as bad as I thought it
was. Ms. Jennings has motivated us.” Ms. Melton: “I wanted to have more
energy, to be strong and healthy. I wanted to run with my friends. At first, it
was so hard. Then, the more I did it, the more easier it became. I felt great
after.” Mrs. Torres-Pino: “Ms. Jennings created the running club and I
thought it was a great idea to stay healthy while working with co-workers.
It’s motivating to run in a group where everyone makes running a priority.”
Ms. Machado: “I joined running club to get in better shape, connect,
collaborate and to challenge myself to a new adventure. I feel motivated
and look forward to it.”

Kudos to our 5th grade
gifted teacher, Ms. Brody,
for receiving a grant in the
amount of $1,000 titled
“Lego Picnic for Lego”. She
will purchase Legos that
teach the scientific
concepts of small
machines, pulleys and
levers. This past January
28, 2015, she was
accompanied by a
coworker and her principal
and honored at a dinner for
this great accomplishment.
Thanks for always thinking
of ways to make learning
fun!

The navy needs a lot of soldiers to win wars, right? And 750 seems like enough to win against Isis, right? Well
that is not enough for Barrack Obama. He sent a lot more.
Obama sent 1,500 additional troops to Iraq. That’s 2,250 soldiers in all! The number nearly tripled! Because of
all the troops that have been added, very few will be able to go home for the holidays. Sol-
diers will not be allowed to just come and go for the holidays. In addition, the administration
is also requesting an extra $5.6 billion to fight Isis.
America has never given up in war. This time, they are determined as ever to win.

Super Bowl XLIX - February 1, 2015
Buy Super Bowl tickets now and get into the
biggest sporting event of the year. There isn't a
spectacle out there that compares with the Super
Bowl, the pinnacle of what has been an incredible
NFL season. Bowl is the experience of a lifetime,
so find your tickets today! Super Bowl XLIX
matches each conference's top seed for the
second consecutive year as the defending
champion Seahawks represent the NFC in going
up against the AFC champion Patriots on
February 1 at University of Phoenix Stadium in
Glendale, Arizona. This will be New England’s
eighth Super Bowl appearance (3-4) while Seattle
is in its third title game (1-1).
RB MARSHAWN LYNCH
Lynch has been huge this year. He had more than
1,000 yards and 10 TDs for the fourth
consecutive season and led the NFL in TDs with
17. He had 157 yards and a TD in the NFC title
game win over the Packers. Look for Beast mode
to be a factor once again in the Super Bowl.
QB RUSSELL WILSON
Wilson has had a remarkable run since joining
the Seahawks. His 36-12 record is the most wins
by a quarterback during his first three seasons.
He joins Joe Flacco as the only QBs in NFL history
to start and win a playoff game in each of his first
three seasons.
COACH PETE CARROLL
Carroll is looking to become only the seventh
coach to lead his team to consecutive Super Bowl
titles, joining Vince Lombardi (Packers), Don
Shula (Dolphins), Chuck Noll (Steelers), Jimmy
Johnson (Cowboys), Mike Shanahan (Broncos)
and Bill Belichick (Patriots). At 63, he would be
the second-oldest coach to win the game behind
Tom Coughlin.
QB TOM BRADY
Brady is looking to join idol Joe Montana with four
Super Bowl rings. He is 20-8 in the postseason
and 3-2 in the Super Bowl. He has the NFL record
for most postseason starts by a quarterback (28),
postseason wins by a QB (20) and most TD
passes (49).
TE ROB GRONKOWSKI
After having injury-plagued campaigns in 2012
and 2013, Gronk returned to Pro Bowl form with
82 catches and 12 TDs during the regular
season. He has more receiving touchdowns
during his first five seasons than any tight end in
NFL history (55).
COACH BILL BELICHICK
This is Belichick's sixth trip to the Super Bowl as
head coach of the Patriots (3-2). Under his
leadership since taking over in 2000, New
England is 176-65. He is the all-time winningest
coach in NFL postseason history with 21, one
more than Dallas' Tom Landry.
WINNER: New England
Patriots 28-24
