In our January Vision Week 2017 we launched our 20:20 Vision. This lays out what we want to be and also what goals we want to have achieved by the end of the year 2020. With ‘Brexit’ Britain is undergoing a process of reinvention, this gives us a brief ‘window of opportunity’ to influence our society in the direction of the kingdom of God.

The 20:20 Vision is summed up in three words: MATURE, MULTIPLY, MOBILISE

I can’t emphasise enough the importance of soaking all our aspirations and goals for the next four years in Spirit-filled prayer. The energy for our 20:20 Vision won’t come from sacrificial service alone; it must arise from a radical dependence on God in prayer.

We have specific Kingdom goals for 2017. These goals must be conquered first through prayer in order for them to bear fruit in our daily lives.

“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” must become our prevailing petition.

This prayer diary is an important prayer tool to release the power of God in a concentrated and targeted manner. The following pages explain the overall prayer strategy we are adopting over the next four years.

The expression “20/20 vision” is used metaphorically about a person who can with great clarity understand a strategy or particular circumstance. But what does “20/20 vision” actually mean in its original usage?

By studying vast numbers of people, eye specialists have decided what a normal person should be able to see when standing 20 feet away from an eye chart. If you have 20/20 vision, it means that when you stand 20 feet away from the chart you can see exactly what a normal healthy human eye should see.

If you had 20/40 vision that would mean that although you are only 20 feet away from the eye chart you can only see the lines of letters that a normal eye could see if looking from 40 feet away – your eyesight is therefore not as strong as normal. Conversely, birds of prey have much more acute vision than people do. A hawk has a much smaller eye than a human being but has a lot more light sensors than we do. This gives a hawk vision that is eight times more acute than a human. A hawk might have 20/2 vision – they see at 20 feet what we could only see at 2 feet distance from an eye chart.

When Paul writes that we ‘walk by faith and not by sight’ he means that what we are not limited by what we see in this physical material world. Rather, what we see in God’s Word and what the Holy Spirit births both in us and through us by prayer is the accurate and clear vision by which we live our lives, order our priorities and make our choices.

The KTLCC 20:20 Vision is first and foremost a Spiritual vision and must be seen, understood and grasped by the eyes of faith though the focusing power of the Spirit. It would be possible to try to achieve the specific goals of the 20:20 Vision naturally speaking and without prayer – this would be a terrible thing and bound to ultimate failure because the 20:20 Vision is:

Unless we keep evangelism as our primary purpose, the cell groups easily slip into the comfort of Christian fellowship meetings. Evangelism is what sustains any revival movement.

That is why we centre all cell group activity on what we call the Evangelism of 3. Prayer triplets are not new, but they are an effective way of involving every single cell member to win people to Christ.

We begin by asking cell members to make a list of up to ten people whom they know, meet regularly and can invite to the cell meetings. Then we focus on three people the Holy Spirit shows us on each of these lists. Joining with two or three other people, we begin to pray daily for those on our shortlists. Regular cell meetings will include time for prayer and strategic planning, in order to win these precious people for Christ. The cells then organise their meetings and activities around the goal of reaching their friends with the gospel.

Write down up to ten names of people you are in regular contact with in London that don’t know Christ and pray for their salvation each day.

If you don’t have a full ten ask God to show you new people to befriend. Each month ask the Holy Spirit which three people you should specially reach out to that month and write their names down. Your cell leader will help you in this.

KENSINGTON TEMPLE DAILY PRAYER AND BIBLE READING DIARY

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2: 42).

A people with a passion can only sustain the fire of the Holy Spirit through the fuel of God’s Word, prayer and fellowship.

“But he answered and said, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that is proceeding out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

If you don’t eat nutritious food on a daily basis, you will grow weak and ineffective in everything you do. Likewise, if you don’t feed on God’s Word daily, you will be spiritually weak and unable to cope not only with the call to be a disciple, but even with normal daily challenges.

We have included a daily Bible reading plan in this booklet that will take you through the Bible in a year. It is one of the most popular Bible reading plans of all time, devised by the great revivalist Robert Murray M’Cheyne.

You can also dowload free daily Bible reading apps from YouVersion.com and Biblegateway.com.

Start on whatever day you first receive this booklet, so that we can all read the same scripture together each day. If for some reason you miss a day or a few days, just re-join the plan again according to the actual date. Don’t try to catch up by skimming through what you have missed. And don’t give up – be steadfast! Expect God to speak to you during your reading.

Use bookmarks in your Bible/Bible apps for ease of daily reference.

Encourage one another in this in your cells each week.

You will notice how daily prayer sets your mind for victory each day and causes your praying to be mixed with faith and expectation. The prayer diary is meant to be repeated each month right through to the end of June 2017.

A good way to pray each day is by using the acronym ACTS.

ADORATION:Praise God for who he is, proclaim his goodness and pour worship upon him.

CONFESSION:Remind yourself of your need for him and reliance on him. Keep short account

with God. Ask him to forgive you and make sure you forgive others each day. Don’t dwell on this though; get right with God and your fellow man and then move on!

THANKSGIVING:Thank God for the things he has done, naming them; thank him in faith for

what you believe he will do.

SUPPLICATION:Come to God with your needs, the needs of London and the world, and pray

for the daily items on the prayer diary.

We also strongly advise you to pray in tongues ten minutes a day to build yourself up and gain victory for your day!


DAY 5:A.C.T.S (p17) Make sure to pray each day according to this acronym. Let it be a holy habit formed this month. Pray for God’s Kingdom will to be done in the Brexit process both for Britain and Europe.

DAY 6:Prayer quote: “Prayer succeeds when all else fails” EM Bounds. Where are things failing in your personal circumstances and cell life/vision? Pray for a turnaround and breakthrough in these areas.

DAY 7:KTLCC 20:20 Vision MULTIPLY: Use the prayer points on p10-11. Pray especially for deputy leaders to be trained and commissioned in every cell group.

DAY 8: We see you increasingly equipped and successful as a Christian in your chosen career or place in wider society. Pray this for yourself, your cell group and all in KTLCC.

DAY 9: KTLCC 20:20 Vision MATURE: “THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23). Ask the Holy Spirit to produce powerful manifestations of his fruit in all the lives of KTLCC people. Which fruit is the Lord working on in your life right now? Prayer for the ‘Mature’ prayer goals (p8-9).

DAY 10: We see you equipped and encouraged to share your faith with others. Pray for yourself and others in KTLCC to take opportunities to study, be trained and equipped to better share their faith. How will you progress in this area?

DAY 11:Prayer quote: “Pray, and let God worry” Martin Luther. What is worrying you today? Turn your anxious thoughts in to words of believing prayer– until fresh confidence that God is at work rises within you.

DAY 12:KTLCC 20:20 Vision MOBILISE: Pick two Giants (p14) then pray for Christians working in those areas. Pray for each of the prayer goals on p15.

DAILY PRAYER POINTS AND BIBLE READING PLAN

DAY 1: Brexit Britain: Read and reflect on the EM Bounds quote (p2). With ‘Brexit’ we now have a four year window of opportunity of national reinvention. Pray that both in the nation and also with our KTLCC 20:20 Vision the next four years will see God’s kingdom come in power and not Satan’s. Be led by the Spirit in how you target your prayers on this theme today.

DAY 2: Prayer quote: “True prayer is the Holy Ghost praying through us back to God” JA Morgan. Ask the Holy Spirit to intercede through you and use you as his voice of intercession.

KTLCC 20:20 Vision: Read p6-7 and ask the Lord to give us all spiritual 20:20 vision and that in our plans and 20:20 efforts we would walk by faith and not by sight. Let faith become your sight today – what do you see?

DAY 3:KTLCC 20:20 Vision MOBILISE: Pray for all Christians involved in politics and pray for wisdom and the salvation of your MP, local councillors and the London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Pray that this year each cell member will identify and choose a giant of influence to become involved in (p14-15). Which one will you choose?

DAY 4: KTLCC 20:20 Vision MATURE: SPIRITUAL PASSION “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” (Psalm 42:1-2, ESV). Ask the Lord to stir up the spiritual passion of all members of KTLCC. How is your spiritual passion today? Pray for every cell member to be fully active and energised in the cell vision (p8-9).

Day 19: We see you with a heart for the lost and a powerful prayer life that will help shake the foundations of our city for God! How is your Evangelism of 3 going? Press the refresh button today if necessary. Ask God to give everyone in KTLCC a burning love for the lost and a love of London. Pray for you neighbourhood, borough and London today.

Day 20: Prayer quote: “The Spirit maketh intercession in the soul like a God wrestling with a God!” John Fletcher. Do you wrestle with God over the 20:20 goals and for the Kingdom of God to come to earth? The most powerful forms of intercessions occur when the Spirit of God in you connect to the Throne of God through your impassioned prayers. Ask the Lord for a fresh prayer burden and wrestle with God like Jacob with the angel. The results will be remarkable.

Day 21: We see you encouraged, taught and trained to become an effective disciple of Christ in London. Today, ask the Holy Spirit to powerfully work in all our hearts and minds to mature us into disciples that are more like Jesus every day. Pray for all your friends in the cell you are part of. Make sure you take all KT opportunities to be trained and to grow – Don’t plateau spiritually, go from glory to glory.

Day 22: KTLCC 20:20 Vision MATURE: TRUST “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil” (Proverbs 3:5-7). Pray for a spirit of faith to arise in Kensington Temple London City Church. May we be those that trust the Lord in all circumstances. What do you need to trust the Lord more in today?

Day 23: KTLCC 20:20 Vision MULTIPLY: Pray for the church in the nations of Europe that they would mature in the faith and multiply in numbers. Pray for a new generation of leaders in the church of Europe to arise that would turn the tide of unbelief and bring forth revival. Pray that God would use KTLCC to help bring revival to London, Europe and the World.

Day 24: KTLCC 20:20 Vision MULTIPLY: Pray for the goals on page 10-11, pray especially for every cell to be successful in its planned strategies for evangelism and growth for 2017.

DAY 13: KTLCC 20:20 Vision MULTIPLY: Pray for all the 2017 evangelistic initiatives taking place through cells, churches and city wide LCC initiatives. What is your cell both planning and involved in? Make sure your prayer of three is active and healthy (p12).

DAY 14:We see you developing the incredible potential that God has placed inside you and releasing it for the good of his Kingdom (p8). What practical steps are you taking to fulfil this vision? What is your next step in the cell vision (p9), what is your next step in your career and personal life? Pray, act and move forward.

Day 15: KTLCC 20:20 Vision: Walking by faith and not by sight! (p6). In regard to our 20:20 Vision what are you seeing with the eye of faith? Prayer is a Holy Spirit vision of the future spoken into being. What is the Holy Spirit showing you? Goals must be seen and conquered in prayer before worked out through the Spirit in daily life. What would be different in your life and ministry if faith was removed, would things just be the same?

Day 16: Prayer quote: “To pray is to enter the treasure house of God and to gather out of an inexhaustible storehouse” CH Spurgeon. Wow! Prayerlessness = spiritual poverty. You don’t have because you don’t ask! (James 4:2). Today go into the treasure house and take all you need for your personal life, cell life and 20:20 Vison goals.

Day 17:KTLCC 20:20 Vision MATURE: OBEDIENCE “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him” (John 14:21). Pray for the grace of the Holy Spirit to bring about an obedience from all our hearts to prioritise kingdom values, goals and purposes. What areas of obedience is the Lord working in your heart at the moment?

Day 18: KTLCC 20:20 Vision MOBILISE: Choose the one of the 12 giants of influence that you are going to adopt personally as an active interest, pray for God’s grace to be poured out influencing that area! Pray for the ‘Mobilise 2017’ goals on page 15.

Day 25: Brexit Britain: Pray for the nation in these 4 years until 2020 AD. Pray that the nation would return to its Christian heritage and to the Lord. Pray ‘Thy will be done, thy Kingdom come to Great Britain’ Pray and bless all the British churches that they would be salt and light during this window of opportunity.

Day 26: KTLCC 20:20 Vision MATURE: RELATIONSHIPS “And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40). Pray for amazing kingdom relationships to exist in all our cells and churches. In our families, friendships and marriages let there be love! How are your relationships today? Do you need to do anything to heal them?

Day 27: We see you as an effective ‘salt and light’ witness to Christ in the wider ‘market place’. Pray that this vision will come to pass both for you and all cell members in KTLCC.

Day 28: Prayer quote: “Four things let us ever keep in mind: God hears prayer, God heeds prayer, God answers prayer, and God delivers by prayer” EM Bounds. Meditate on this quote then pray through each part of the Lord’s Prayer personalising it as the Holy Spirit directs.

Day 29: KTLCC 20:20 Vision MOBILISE: Choose one of the 12 giants of influence and pray for God’s grace to be poured out influencing that area! Pray that grace would come to London Christians serving the Lord in this giant. Pray through the points on page14-15.

Day 30: KTLCC 20:20 Vision: Pray for the Vision to touch every heart and for God to give us great success in the next four years. Pray for people to run with the Vision just like in Habakkuk 2.

Day 31: Give thanks to God for all he is doing in your life. Give thanks for what he is about to do in you and through you in the next month. Give thanks that God’s mercy is greater than God’s wrath. And that where sin abounds in London grace can abound all the more! Give thanks for the KTLCC 20:20 Vision and ask God to mightily pour his power on it through our lives. Amen.
