KRMCA Membership, Thank you for allowing me the privilege to serve as the 2015 President of the association. I am truly honored! My time spent in this association has allowed me to learn from great individuals, including those who held this position before me. I will do my very best to maintain the exceptional work we have experi-enced from the past presidents. The staff at KRMCA has always been the glue which holds the group together. Finley’s leadership and his desire to promote and educate others on concrete are unsurpassed by no one. Brett has gone above and beyond his job duties and serves in many leadership roles on important committees and groups. John continues to lead our re-certification and training schools which provides a large part of the revenue we use to fulfill our main goals of promotion and edu-cation. Susan handles the day to day operations and keeps things organized for all. Because of our staff, we are always at the forefront for new ideas and innovative ways to promote concrete. I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and dedication. Since 1960, KRMCA members and staff have worked to improve the overall quality of concrete construction as well as to educate others about new and existing ways ready mix concrete can help them build better and smarter. The fruits of our labor may not be realized for decades, as many of the practices we first tried in the 80’s and 90’s are now the standards practice such as flowable fill and ICF construction. Today we have pervious concrete, sustainability and resilience, LEED V4, and many more practices and policies that will affect the future of our growth and success. With this in mind, it is important to work together and stay focused on our goals of education and promotion so everyone can know what we already know- Con-crete is the greatest building material in the world. I look forward to serving the association and working with the staff to have a

PURPOSE OF KRMCA COMMITTEES Convention Committee The purpose of the Convention Committee is to: Plan and coordinate the program of events of the annual convention; Prepare a program of interest to the membership at the annual convention; and obtain outstanding speakers to provide the membership with information and new ideas in technical advances in various phases of the industry. Also plan, sell, booths for KRMCA Trade Show (every third year). Environmental Control and Safety Committee The purpose of the Environmental Control and Safety Committee is to: Work with governmental agencies so that the Association will be consulted before any governmental regulations concerning air, water or noise pollution are modified or changed, which will affect the ready-mixed concrete industry in the areas of environmental quality and control. Act as a liaison between governmental agencies and the ready-mixed concrete industry in the areas of environmental quality and control. Executive Committee The Officers and such other Directors appointed by the President shall serve as an Executive Com-mittee and be authorized to conduct the affairs of the Association between sessions of the Board of Directors. The President and Vice President are members ex officio of all committees. Finance Committee The purpose of the Finance Committee is to: Prepare and recommend a budget; and to assist in providing equitable methods of collecting dues. Insurance Committee To deal with all types of insurance matters. Legislative Committee To follow all legislation that has an effect on the concrete industry, and to propose legislation as needed to benefit the ready mix industry. Membership Committee The Purpose of the Membership Committee is to develop the membership of the Association, both as to producer members and associate members and to secure new members for the Association. Promotion Committee The purpose of the Promotion Committee is to plan and coordinate the promotion of ready-mixed concrete in Kentucky. Work with regional promotion committees and support their activities. Quality & Specification Committee The purpose of the Quality & Specifications Committee is to: Study methods, gather data, and promote techniques for a better quality of ready-mixed concrete; plan and coordinate the associa-tion's pre-certification school and work with the Department of Transportation and other specify-ing agencies developing concrete specifications.
