For example, if a prospective employee is married toa person from Communist China particularly if members of the familyare still living there then the person may still be hired, but thesecurity clearance process will require that the person not be assignedto duties related to Communist China.

Why would the security clearance process impose such a restraint? Theobvious answer is that we wouldnt want to see American security orpolicy get compromised because of a State Department employeesconflicts of interest, causing bad negotiations, information leaks orsuppressed critical facts or even the appearance of such. Rewards ort hreats to family members could seriously undermine an employeesability to work on Americas behalf.

Unfortunately, as obvious as our need for security clearances is, theyhave been tossed to the wind by the Obama Administration.

This is not to say that the U.S. government no longer uses securityclearancesquite the contrary. They are imposed on the little people

who try to get jobs in the State Department. No, Team Obama onlyignores security clearances when it comes to positions likeSECRETARYOF STATE.

Thats right, for the top positions in the U.S. government, PresidentObamas politically -driven appointments overrule longstanding practiceand common-sense. This is why Secretary of State Kerry, whose son-in-law is from Iran, and has family still living there, was given the job ofnegotiating with Iran on behalf of our country and the rest of the FreeWorld to reign in Irans nuclear ambitions.

But really, who could have seen it coming that our Secretary of Statewould be negotiating with Iran? Oh yea hjust about ANYONE, givenObamas longstanding outstretched hand toward Iran (forrefresher, click here ) .

Therefore it was reckless for Obama to appoint Kerry to the position ofSecretary of State, and even more reckless to put Kerry in charge ofnegotiations with Iran.

Its really shocking that the danger lurking within Kerrys conflict ofinterest never occurred to anyone in the Obama Administration. Butthen again, we shouldnt be surprised, because Kerrys poorly -considered appointment is symptomatic of the poor decision-makingprocesses that characterize Obamas presidency, on everyt hing fromObamacare to Benghazi, Egypt, Syria, Libya, and even the assassinationof Osama bin Laden, where the trumpeting of SEAL Team 6 quite likelyled to a Taliban revenge shoot-down of a Chinook helicopter, sendingnearly two dozen members of SEAL Team 6 to their deaths duringExtortion 17 three months later (for refresher, click here ).

Clearly, national security is taking a back seat to political ambitions andDemocrat insider politics. The price we ultimately pay for this lack ofdiscretion could go far beyond anything anyone could have imagined

before Kerry sat down at the negotiating table opposite Team Rouhani. In a greeting to the Iranian people on the occasion of the traditionalNew Year (Nowruz) holiday last week, Secretary of State John Kerryexposed a secret that journalists and academics have been agonizingover for the past six weeks: the fact that his daughter has married anIranian-American who has extensive family ties to Iran.

The agreement last weekend to allow limited sanctions relief for theIslamic Republic in return for the promised suspension of the countrysnuclear development came as a significant blow to Israeli PrimeMinister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had long campaigned against anyeasing of pressure on the Iranian regime.

But Netanyahu, who on Sunday slammed the Geneva deal as a historicmistake, appears to have been reassured to some degree by atelephone conversation later that day with President Obama, whorestated his firm com mitment to Israel, which has good reason to beskeptical about Irans intentions.

The Plan for North Sinai

For the past two years, Syria has been consumed by a terrible civil war,in which more than a hundred thousand men, women and children havebeen killed to date. Four hundred thousand Palestinian refugees havebeen living in Syria since 1948 and they share in the general suffering:hundreds of them have been killed and wounded and many thousands ofthem have fled to Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt and other countries.This is very concerning to the Hamas movement the PalestinianMuslim Brotherhood because if the situation continues, the

Palestinians, who have until now lived in Syria, will disappear as agroup and their distribution throughout the world would dissolve thePalestinian problem and their right of return into Israel. This is thereason that Hamas leaders conceived the idea together with Mursi:Egypt will transfer North Sinai to the authority of Hamas, and thePalestinian refugees will be transferred for a limited time to Sinai fromSyria and from the countries to which they fled recently as a result ofthe civil war.

The Mursi government approved of transferring northern Sinai to Hamasin order to settle Palestinian refugees from Syria there, because then,many infrastructures would have to be developed housing, water,sewage, electricity, roads, communications, industry and education. Allof this would have American, Qatari and international funding, andEgypt would benefit from the resulting opportunities for employment.The area would be leased to the Palestinians, and the world would paythe rent to Egypt. According to the plan, Hamas would be responsiblefor the Palestinian refugees living in Sinai, mainly to assure that othermovements, especially Fatah, would not be able to set foot among thesePalestinians. The people of Gaza would be able to pass freely into northSinai, which would become a Palestinian Islamic state. Joining northSinai with Gaza would ease the Gaza residents sense of siege, andwould open great economic opportunities because of the building anddevelopment initiatives for North Sinai, causing the tunnels betweenGaza and Rafah to become superfluous. The United States seems to be

aware of this plan and to agree to it, and if the name of the UnitedStates is connected with the plan, the United States will earn a lot ofcredit for its generous support in rescuing the Palestinians whilesimultaneously preserving their problematic situation, just as theirstatus as refugees has been preserved for the past 65 years withbudgets for UNRWA, a large part of which come from American taxpayers

Lawmaker: Benghazi operatives likely communicated with Al Qaedaleaders before, after attack

Some of the main operatives in the Benghazi terror attack were part ofthe Al Qaeda network and likely sought to communicate with Al Qaedaleadership in Pakistan leading up to and after the strike that killed fourAmericans, according to the Republican chairman of the HouseIntelligence Committee.

I can tell you we know the participants of the event were clearly AlQaeda affiliates, had strong interest and desire to communicate with AlQaeda core and others, in the process -- we believe before and after theevent, Rep. Mike Rogers, R -Mich., who has access to classifiedinformation and receives regular briefings, told Fox News in anexclusive interview.

Last month, Fox News was first to report that at least two of the keysuspects in the Benghazi terror attack were at one point working with AlQaeda senior leadership. Sources familiar with the investigation saidone suspect was believed to be a courier for the network, and the othera bodyguard in Afghanistan prior to the 2001 terror attacks.

The direct ties to Al Qaeda senior leadership undercut earlycharacterizations by the Obama administration that the attackers inBenghazi were isolated extremists" with no organizational structure oraffiliation. After the attack, the former bodyguard -- Faraj al Chalabi --traveled to Pakistan, where he was detained, returned to Libya and

eventually released before the FBI was granted access.

A former Guantanamo detainee, Sufian bin Qumu, who is suspected oftraining some of the operatives who took part in the assault, was inBenghazi on Sept. 11, 2012, according to a knowledgeable source. FoxNews is told the intelligence community is trying to determine whetherhe played any role directing the attack and whether he was physicallyon or near the consulate grounds.

I will tell you this, by witness testimony and a year and a half ofinterviewing everyone that was on the ground by the way, either by anFBI investigator or the committee: It was very clear to the individuals

CIA personnel testify agency was on alert over 9/11 anniversary inBenghazi, before attack

Personnel working at the CIA annex in Benghazi were well aware thatthe 9/11 anniversary last year could be a flashpoint, according to recenttestimony, and a notice was even posted on a bulletin board at theannex warning of potentially increased hostilities against westerntargets during that period.

The new details emerged during recent closed-door briefings by CIApersonnel including former contractors, according to those familiar withthe testimony before the House Intelligence Committee.

The witnesses also voiced concern about Ambassador Chris Stevensvisit to Benghazi right before the 9/11 anniversary; Stevens was killedin the attack.

Given an understanding between the local CIA personnel and the nearbyState Department operation that they would come to each others aid,the CIA on the ground in Benghazi was aware of Stevens arrival inBenghazi on Sept. 10, according to the witnesses. But they toldlawmakers they were puzzled as to why Stevens was there during aperiod of heightened threat without significant additional security.

The new testimony appears to challenge the findings of theAccountability Review Board -- known as the State Department ARB --which explicitly stated that the Benghazi consulate and the StateDepartment were well aware of the anniversary of the September 11,2001 terrorist attacks but at no time were there ever any specific,credible threats against the mission in Benghazi related tothe September 11 anniversary."

In what may be the fastest discovery of someone perjuring themselvesbefore Congress, Henry Chao, the Deputy CIO of the Department ofHealth and Human Services, apparently lied to Congress a couple ofdays ago when he said that the Anonymous Shopper feature of theObamacare site was pulled because it failed so miserably that we co uldnot conscionably let people use it. Just a day after Chaostestimony CNN uncovered emails proving that his version of events wasnot accurate , and in fact was completely different from what hedescribed.

It determined the Anonymous Shopper feature "tested successfully,"revealed "no high severity defects open" and that "remaining lower

severity defects will not degrade consumer experience" The successful test occurred on September 17, according to a sourcefamiliar with the project. The next day, in an internal e-mail obtained by

CNN, Chao wrote the shopper function "isn't needed and thus should beremoved."

Wow. This may be the worst lie in history. Chao testified about otherseemingly more important things, like the fact that 30 40% of thewebsite still needed to be built, but this one lie is a bombshell andheres why.

The system would let you enter the necessary infoanonymously, then estimate for you what plans might be available andabout how much theyd cost. Sounds great, right?

It is greatfor the consumer. While Chao writes that the function isntneeded and thus should be removed, I b elieve the reason for its

removal is more sinister than that.

See, technically the function isnt needed to complete the transaction.However, the function would create a much smoother interface forpossible consumers; as well, it would make for a more satisfactory userexperience. You could get answers to your most important questionsquickly and without commitment. It would also ease the traffic burdenon Obamacare servers because people wouldnt need to be on the sitefor as long, and the interaction wouldnt be as complicated or in depth.

The point of all of this is that the anonymous shopper feature isdesigned to make the experience easier by giving the customer anestimate of the plans and prices theyll be paying. I believe this isprecisely why the Obama administration had it removed.

If people could figure out just how bad this deal was going to be beforethey signed upno one would! With the anonymous shopper feature,the media could research how people from all sectors of American lifewould be affected by Obamacare. They could see that most premiumswould jump, and that plans wouldnt necessarily fit the customers, andthat deductibles would skyrocket. Marajh faces charges of third-degree assault, assault as a hatecrime and aggravated harassment as a hate crime. Three other menallegedly with Marajh at the time of the attack were taken intocustody but released, police said. He was awaiting arraignmentSaturday afternoon.

Just before the beatdown, one of the men was "talking aboutknockout," Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.

Perl was wearing a yarmulke. At least one of the men in the groupyelled an anti-Semitic slur, cops said.

A long-term Afghanistan security pact was in jeopardy Tuesday afterAfghan President Hamid Karzai made new demands, prompting theUnited States to threaten to withdraw all forces after 2014.

The Afghan president signaled he was not prepared to sign theagreement during a meeting with U.S. National Security Adviser SusanRice. According to the White House, he outlined "new conditions" forsigning it, just days after a tentative deal had been reached.

The White House said Monday that Rice responded by saying this wouldmean the U.S. would then start planning to pull out all its forces after2014, adding that a signed agreement is necessary to plan forthousands of troops to stay in the country to train and mentor Afghansecurity forces to face the Taliban.

"Without a prompt signature, the U.S. would have no choice but toinitiate planning for a post-2014 future in which there would be no U.S.or NATO troop presence in Afghanistan," she told the Afghan president.

Their meeting in Kabul came the day after Karzai's surprise decision to

ignore Sunday's recommendation by an Afghan assembly of dignitariesto sign the Bilateral Security Agreement, a refusal that cast doubt onwhether American and allied troops would remain in Afghanistan totrain Afghan forces after most foreign troops withdraw next year.

According to Karzai's office, he told Rice during Monday's meeting thathe wouldn't back down from that decision, deferring it to whoeversucceeds him as president in April elections.

Karzai announced his decision at a gathering of 2,500 tribal elders andregional leaders known as a Loya Jirga, even though the council notonly overwhelmingly approved the deal after a four-day meeting but

urged him to sign it by Dec. 31.

Washington has asked him to change his mind. But the mercurial Karzai,in the meeting with Rice, says he laid out a series of new demands --albeit ones mostly involving steps the U.S. has already said it wouldtake.

Suicide bombings kill 13 Iraqi soldiers, police Published November 26, 2013 Associated Press

BAGHDAD Suicide bombings at a military base and a police stationkilled 13 members of the Iraqi security forces north of Baghdad onTuesday, officials said.

In the deadlier of the attacks, two bombers struck: one blew himself upat the gate of the army facility in Tarmiyah town, and then the secondset off his explosive belt among a crowd of soldiers who gathered afterthe earlier blast, police said.

The explosions killed nine soldiers and wounded another 24 people.Tarmiyah, a Sunni town and former insurgent stronghold, is about 30miles north of Baghdad.

Half an hour later, police said another suicide bomber blew himself upinside a police station in Baghdad's northern suburbs of Taji, killing fourpolicemen and wounding nine others.

Hospital officials confirmed the casualty figures for both attacks. Allofficials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were notauthorized to speak to journalists.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the latest attacks. Al

Qaeda's Iraq branch, which has been gaining strength in recent months,frequently targets security forces in an effort to undermine the Shiite-led government in Baghdad.

The intervention was the latest chapter in a saga that began Saturday,when thousands of protesters led by Pakistani politician and cricket starImran Khan blocked a road in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwaprovince, which is used to ship goods to and from Afghanistan.

Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, said they would block NATOshipments until the U.S. ended drone attacks.
