Paseo Santa Fe
Paseo Santa Fe, encompasses the S. Santa Fe Avenue corridor between Vista
Village Drive and Civic Center Drive. The City's vision is to fill the area with
retail/shops/restaurants topped with living spaces to revitalize the downtown
area. Construction is taking place in three phases with an estimated cost to
the City of $30 million. The City also received $10 million in grants for the
Paseo Santa Fe Street Project.
Paseo Santa Fe Road Construction Project
Estimated date of completion:
Phase I – April 2019
Phase II – Late Spring 2020
Phase III – November 2020
The streetscape improvements included the complete
makeover of this segment of S. Santa Fe Avenue, including
below ground improvements such as new water, sewer, and
storm drain lines between Main Street and Ocean View Drive.
The visible improvements included placing overhead
utility lines underground, narrowing the road from four lanes to
two lanes, constructing new sidewalks; installing streetlights
and street furnishings; installing a gateway arch sign; and
constructing Vista's first roundabout at Eucalyptus Avenue
