Trained as an urban planner, I have been a leader on sustainable design and engineering projects in the US and Asia for almost twenty years. I served on the first USGBC professional committees for designing the LEED standard when I was working in New York City, and my interest in how standards shape buildings and cities and sustain change led me to also contribute to the national green building code for India, GRIHA, when I was a Fulbright Scholar at The Energy and Resources Institute in Delhi (TERI), the country’s leading environmental think tank. As the Founder and Managing Director of two sustainable design firms, based in India and Singapore, I was responsible for all aspects of project development, from technical design to sustainability strategy and code compliance, to construction and commissioning. As the hands-on director in both organizations I lead teams of architects and engineers on over one-hundred sustainable design projects for leading multinational companies in India and Asia. In many of these projects, we faced complex challenges of climate and environmental, habitat sensitivity, natural resource conservation, and energy, water and waste management. I dealt with multiple, overlapping administrative agencies and environmental regulations as well as local communities and grassroots organizations with a stake in the projects. My project experience over twenty years spans diverse projects types and locations, including major mixed-used residential and retail projects, IT campuses, industrial parks, healthcare and hospitality sectors in South Asia, and commercial offices and educational institutions in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China and Indonesia. Below is sample of project experience and involvement in high-profile projects in Singapore, USA and India. Kevin P Sullivan PROJECT EXPERIENCE
