• Weak financial support for infrastrure and equipment

• Inappropriate learning approaches

• Lack of synergy between TAE research and extension services

• No coordination mechanism between networks and development partners

• Disaffection of youth

• Graduates are knowledge containers rather than ready workers

• TAE are not responding to societal needs

• Duplication and confusion of actions

Urgent need to transform TAE in Africa as mentioned by CAADP

• In the CAADP processes, TAE is mentioned as a issue, but TAE institutions are rarely included in the business meetings nor are TAE activities financed in the Investment plans.

• How do we rectify this and ensure that CAADP country teams engage with TAE institutions more effectively?
