* The number of IDPs in week 14th and 16th are negative since the number of returnees is higher than IDPs October 2016 November 2016 December 2016 January 2017 February 2017 Displacement Timeline from 17 October 2016 to 02 April 2017 March 2017 DISPLACEMENT TRENDS IN MOSUL OPERATIONS AREA (17 October 2016 to 31 March 2017) Mosul Humanitarian Response: Explosive Incidents The iMMAP security incidents tracking system has recorded 3,132 explosive incidents including 1,007 armed clash areas, 1,336 explosive hazards, and 789 airstrikes. It reveals armed clash areas, IEDs, and airstrikes remained major security concerns since military operations started on 17 October 2016. On 17 Oct 2016 the military offensive operations were started to retake Mosul province and its surrounding areas from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). There have been a significant escalation in explosive incidents and continuous increase in the number of internally displaced people in those areas. As of 31 Mar 2017, the iMMAP security incidents tracking system has recorded 3,132 number of explosive incidents in Mosul Operations Area since the beginning of military operations which have resulted in the death of about 12,728 people and injuries of 894 ones. Between 17 Oct 2016 to 02 Apr 2017 over 302,430 people have been displaced from the Mosul operation areas and they are in dire need of humanitarian support and assistance.
