• 2007: Colgate toothpaste was being counterfeited.
• These fakes contained antifreeze -- instead of fluoride.
• labelled “Manufactured in South Africa,” were sold in discount stores in
USA
• their labels contained misspellings like
"SOUTH AFRLCA" and " Dental Assoxiation."
• Also Colgate doesn’t import US-sold toothpaste from South Africa.
