•Access registration The Application saves who has registered any information, and when. Also it saves who has deleted and who has modified any previously registered information, and when too. •It is based on a Web/Java application server using a N-tiers architecture.

•It has been developed using Java code J2EE application.

•The client tier provides the graphical users interface (GUI) running on client PCs having Windows OS and a browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape with Java support.

•The communication between the client and the Server is based on HTTP(S)/XML with encryption.

•The application tier is scalable with fail-over or load balancing capabilities.

•The application runs on Servers with any Operating System, specially with Unix based Operating Systems such as SUN Solaris, IBM AIX or Linux.

•The database tier connects to the application tier using technology incorporated in J2EE standard for database management.

•The database is configured for redundancy and fail-over.

•It can be fully integrated with information systems already installed in each Centre (HIS and LIS), receiving order form data and sending the validated test results. From this reason e-Delphyn can work as a workstation integrated with a LIS or HIS, managing adequately the information of any Hospital Lab box.

eDelphyn SECURITY

•Database encryptionThe Application encrypts all patient’s personal data. Also it encrypts the relationship between patient tables and their analytical test result tables.

•Communication encryption Using “socket secure layer” (SSL).

•Connection type with the Database According to J2EE standard.

•Connection parameters Connection chain saved in the Application Server register.

•Authentication way User and password for accessing to the Database.

•Password change Each user can change his/her password, programming the periodicity of this change. The Application includes a historical file with used password, avoiding repetitions. •Password requirements The password is a combination of letters and numbers. Minimum length: 3 digits for all users and 5 digits for Application supervisors. Maximum length: 8 digits in both cases. Or user may define the digits.

•Password expiry date Users can set up the password expiry date.

•Password location The Application saves encrypted all user’s passwords into the user table.

•Password encryption methodology HASH non-reversible.

•User profiles Application supervisors can set up all necessary “user profiles”.

•User right configurationApplication supervisors have to set up user rights of each defined “user profile”, establishing which options they can access and if they have right to modify and/or to delete previously registered information.
