Malaysia Polymer International Conference 2017 (MPIC2017) is the 5th conference in the series organized by Polymer Research Center (PORCE), Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). MPIC is a biyearly conference. MPIC aims to internationalize polymer research in Malaysia through PORCE as a center of reference in polymer science and technology. MPIC serves as a platform that gathers researchers from various backgrounds of polymer research. MPIC also aims to promote, strengthen and expand the networking among researchers and research centers worldwide. The theme for this year conference is “Advanced Polymers for Sustainable Developments”. The main focus is on the research and development of polymers for novel applications. The direction is towards the advancement of science and technology of polymers for the benets of mankind. This year, PORCE has one more step to the forth to gather reputable researchers from prestigious universities by having co-organizers from Mahatma Gandhi University, India and also GIFU University, Japan. These are prominent universities for advanced polymeric materials.
Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) is one of the four aliating universities in Kerala; premier educational institution that strives to full higher educational needs of the people of Central Kerala, India. MGU has taken immense strides in the elds of inter-disciplinary teaching and research in the areas of pure and applied sciences, social sciences and the humanities. At present, MGU oers research programs in forty disciplines through its own Schools as well as through its approved research centres. The University has close collaboration for academic, research and extension programmes with a number of national agencies and institutions. The University is also involved in active collaboration with research institutions of international reputation throughout the world (www.mguniversity.edu).
Gifu University is located in Central Japan, between Tokyo and Kyoto, and has excellent international accessibility. The history of Gifu University dates back to its foundation on May 31, 1949, and the university now consists of ve faculties: Education, Regional Studies, Medicine, Engineering and Applied Biological Sciences. Under the motto of "Learning, Exploring, and Contributing" Gifu University is a national university strongly rooted in the local community. These traditions have been passed down to the university, and today, Gifu University continues to be a place for the gathering and exchange of people and knowledge, for the integration of systematic and advanced knowledge, and for both scholarly and humanitarian development. The university returns the products of these activities to society and sends forth talented graduates into the community. Gifu University strives to maintain high standards of research to serve as the foundation of outstanding education and aspires to be a hub for advanced, original research in elds such as life science and environmental science, and to return the products of research to society. Gifu University draws on diverse academic and research capacities to tackle regional issues and help stimulate local society (www.gifu-u.ac.jp)
Selected papers will be refereed for publication in Journal of Polymer-Plastic Technology & Engineering (PPTE, ISI-indexed journal-charged upon acceptance for publication), Malaysian Journal of Analytical Science (SCOPUS indexed journal-charged upon acceptance for publication) and Journal of Polymer Science and Technology.
