I started Circle of Punks
in Singapore, which is a support
community for young co-founders.
And I founded REActor –
The Raffles Entrepreneurship Academy,
which is the academy at my high school that exposes students to
start-ups and entrepreneurship in the hope that they too, would
go on to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems.
We have a team of 12 that’s helping to redefine the
entrepreneurship education system here in Singapore.
We’ve trained over a hundred students in entrepreneurship
concepts, from lean methodology to customer development.
And these students are 17 years old.
We’ve sent over 60 youths to intern in various
start-ups, including tech and social enterprise.
The average age of the students is 19.
We’re helping to
incubate 6 student-led
start-ups right now.
We’ve run 4 roundtable events
where we get students to interact
with alumni and bounce ideas
and solve problems.
And we’re currently helping to consult
for a number of Israeli tech start-ups as
part of the Innovation Immersion
Programme together with University of
Illinois Urbana Champagne.
My name is Rusydi.
And this is my philosophy.
Learn #1
to say hi
Don’t be afraid #2 to take action.
Don’t be afraid to
laugh at yourself.
#3
Don’t make
excuses.
#4
Don’t let someone else
frame your mind.
#5
You don’t always have to
stand in line. #6
Say thank you.
#7
Follow up; don’t lose
momentum.
#8
How can I
help? #9
Go ahead & create your
own luck.
#10
Be humble #11 & expect nothing in return.
Ideas aren’t created in a vacuum.
#12
Surround yourself with people
who are positive.
#13
Discipline &
Perseverance
#14
We hope to get our own building one day,
where youths can work freely to
collaborate and create positive change.
When the right elements are brought
together under the right conditions,
a reaction occurs.
