Discover the secret phrase of the day…

• There are 20 purple letters between pages 2 – 5 of this planning guide.

• These letters should be arranged into 3 words that make up the “secret phrase”.

An anagram is a word puzzle which is solved by arranging letters into words or phrases, not unlike Scrabble or Wheel of Fortune. Play along with us. Read the Planning Guide carefully and write down all the purple letters you discover. Arrange them into words; arrange the words into a phrase. Final challenge… work the secret phrase into your conversation at check in and start your day off with some small chocolates. Why not?! Here are your first two letters – 18

more to go!

Pick a Block 1 Class…

8:30 am– 9:55am Want to keep your BLOCK 1 time open instead of taking a class?

No problem. Select “FREE TIME / TEACHING” in Block 1 when you register in eBiz.

Progressive Outdoor Exploration Target Audience: For Leaders who have taken training (or not) and avoided going on hikes, camping, or traveling with their troop because they aren’t sure how to start planning. You have it within you to start small, and over time, build up to some FANTASTIC experiences for your troop. Nature is available for everyone to explore while building skills and creating memories – a lot of it nearby. The point is that it should be fun for everyone, and if everyone is sharing in the “work”, then the work becomes part of the fun. Girls CAN be part of the research, destination selection, planning, and execution. Real life examples of places you can go, how to plan, and how to get your troop ready to go.

Inclusion & Diversity Target Audience: Anyone interested in learning how to create the most inclusive troops, service units, and Girl Scout experiences. The goal of this session is to share ideas and tools to help you create and sustain the most inclusive troops, service units, and Girl Scout experiences. During this course we will discuss varying types of identities and how to best support all Girl Scouts regardless of their differences. We will also share tips on how to embrace and promote differences among Girl Scouts, emphasizing how difference is vital to development and success. Join us for a conversation on how to build inclusive spaces for our Girl Scouts.

TR610: SU Event Coordinator Target Audience: For New SU Team Event Coordinators Designed for team members who organize and coordinate Service Unit events for troops. This training will keep your life simple by helping you: • Identify all the available resources and how to use them (including Safety Activity Checkpoints, Activity Approvals, and more.

• Plan according to your SU’s specific needs

• Understand how to plan according to the GSLE

• Operate within GSNETX standards and guidelines

• Design effective promotion and marketing materials

• Connect with other SUECs and address any additional questions or concerns you have!

What's new this year at GSNETX camps! Target Audience: Anyone who currently takes their troops camping or who is thinking about camping. From hatchet throwing to tent camping to fishing. Come learn about the new AND old activities at our camps rolling out this year. You will also have the opportunity to share your programming ideas and desires to create the ultimate camp experience for your girls.

Finding Your Way–Intro to Orienteering Target Audience: Anyone who believes that something old can be new again, who wants to get out their chair, handle the compass, and play a few games to practice. Why, beside the fact that it looks cool, should you carry a compass with your outdoor camping gear? After all, we have GPS devices that can do the same work with less effort. Answer: a hiking GPS could run out of batteries, break if you drop it, or lose the signal and become worthless. A real compass, though, is something for girls to touch and engage with. Learn with the folks who produce the annual Compass Kapers event.

Robotics for All Gir l Scouts (K-12) Target Audience: Troop leaders, volunteer or parents who wish to learn more about robotics programs at the STEM Center and throughout GSNETX. STEM Center Staff will discuss the technology available at the STEM Center of Excellence and how it is used at all Girl Scouts levels for robotics program workshops. Staff will be on hand to answer questions about robotics equipment, teams, competitions and badges.

TR603: SU Recruiter Target Audience: Service Unit Recruiters, School Liaisons, and anyone else who loves recruitment! Join us as we share best practices and simple ideas for increasing membership in your service unit. Plus, we'll cover strategies on how to confidently recruit new parents to start their own troop! Some of what you'll learn:

• Best practices and simple ideas for growing your troop or service unit.

• Tools & techniques you need to ask other parents to "take the lead like a Girl Scout" and start their own troop!

• We will also provide you with an exclusive sneak peak of new recruitment tools - including new leader experience folders, troop formation best practices, recruitment giveaways, Add-a-Friend campaigns, and more!

TR602: SU Manager Target Audience: For new, returning, & potential SU Team Managers All about leading the service unit! This course will equip service unit managers to support a positive, impactful and progressive Girl Scout leadership experience in their area by managing a great team.

Are you not quite sure how Girl Scouts can help to satiate your girls' wanderlust? Come find out where your girls can go, and how to get there with the support of your council! We will talk about council travel, troop travel, and Destinations. Come get ready for travel adventure!
