Spend the afternoon with ITT exploring traditional food and drink from the northern region of Spain. Considered one of the most important dishes of the
Spanish cuisine par excellence, fabada is widely consumed throughout Asturias. It is made of white beans, several types of sausages and pork, and
seasoned with saffron and a variety of other spices. Chef Carol from Restaurant El Rincon Asturiano in El Puerto de Santa Maria will show us how this plate is

Now they come to one of the most tumultuous eras of all, the enormous social, political, and economic turmoil of the 1960s through the 1980s, from civil rights, assassinations, mass political movements and Vietnam to the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, Presidential impeachment, revolution – and rock and roll.

The NOFFS (Navy Operational Fitness and Fueling System) Operational System has been around since 2010. With the ever increasing popularity and demand for higher intensity programs, we are extremely excited to announce the official release of three new NOFFS Series: Strength, Endurance and Sandbag. The three additional programs are more advanced and progress up from the Operational Series adding to the overall program.

The Strength SeriesThis series will assist with developing the strength that is needed to perform at one's highest level. There are three training phases within the series intended to progressively build total work capacity and power. The first phase, Build Muscle, is focused on building lean muscle mass and improving the body's capacity to handle greater physical demands through a higher volume of work. The second phase, Get Strong, focuses on building strength through fewer repetitions and higher intensity. The final phase, Get Powerful, harnesses the newfound strength and trains the muscles to be fast and forceful.
The Endurance SeriesThe workouts in this series are designed to assist with breaking through training plateaus, while decreasing injuries often associated with traditional endurance training. The workouts can be accomplished in a number of ways, including running, biking, rowing, or using anycardiovascular machine.
The Sandbag SeriesThis series provides the Sailor with a training plan that can be performed in environments with limited equipment options. It will assist with developing the strength and power needed to meet the performance demands placed upon the body in any environment. The added challenge of performing traditional exercises with a less stable mass (sand-filled bag) provides a unique training experience that mimics the demands experienced inday-to-day life.
The NOFFS provides the Navy with a “best-in-class” physical fitness and nutrition proram for Sailors, their family members and other authorized patrons.
NOFFS includes four different workout series now: Operational, Strength, Endurance and Sandbag. The Operational Series (formerly known as NOFFS 1.0) provides the foundational exercises that are designed to replicate the activities Sailors conduct in their operational duties: lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying. Each additional series (Strength, Endurance and Sandbag) was developed to provide training modes that address the special interests of users.
The fueling aspect of this program will allow you to determine your total caloric needs to achieve your personal goals, wheter you desire to lose, maintain, or gain weight. The meal builder enables you to select high-octane foods for each meal, populate your meal plan a week at a time, and email it to yourself.
Finally, the regeneration component of this series will assist you with addressing common aches and pains. The soft tissue release techniques combined with the flexibility routine will restore muscular balance and ensure you developand maintain themobility necessaryfor high levelperformance.

Fabada & SidraA Taste of AsturiasSeptember 27th, 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.Sign up by September 24th. $60.
Spend the afternoon with ITT exploring traditional food and drink from the northern region of Spain. Considered one of the most important dishes of the Spanish cuisine par excellence, fabada is widely consumed throughout Asturias. It is made of white beans, several types of sausages and pork, and seasoned with saffron and a variety of other spices. Chef Carol from Restaurant El Rincon Asturiano in El Puerto de Santa Maria will show us how this plate is prepared. After the cooking demonstration, we will enjoy a feast of fabada and cachopo followed by frixuelos for dessert. The meal will be accompanied by the region’s famous apple cider called sidra, which will be expertly poured into your glass in the traditional Asturian fashion beginning high above the head and finally reaching its glass far below, sparkling and ready to drink.
