The Open House activities begin in the library at 10:00 am. At 11:00 am you won’t want to miss Mark Hayward’s performance! Mark Hayward has been a variety arts performer since 1990. He is a World Yo-yo Champion, a member of a World Champion Juggling Team, and a Spin Top Champion. His mom is proud. Mark has traveled the world with a yo-yo on his finger (well, mostly in his pocket), and has made appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman (twice), The Late Late Show with James Corden, America’s Got Talent, and the NBC Nightly News. Someday Mark hopes to perform for both the President and the Queen. Mark will be sharing his unique sense of humor and his amazing talent at the library open house for one show only—don’t miss it! It’s January. In Wisconsin that means cold and snow. At the library it means it is time once again for our annual Library Open House! Join us at the library on Saturday, January 27 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for our 12th Annual Open House. This year’s open house will feature crafts, information stations, displays, games, free giveaways, door prizes, lunch and a special performance by Mark Hayward: Yo-yoer, Juggler & Cool Guy! Borrowing from Mark’s call tag this year’s open house will showcase how the library’s resources and services can help you navigate life’s yo-yo like ups and downs and how to juggle all the things you need to balance in your life. How cool is that? The open house is the perfect time to come to the library and find out more about the programming, resources and services that will assist you in a new year of meeting life’s challenges, facing changes and enjoying everyday just a little bit more! To kick off 2018 the Book Club will be reading and discussing Anna Quindlen’s Miller’s Valley. This is

a novel about a small town on the verge of a big change. A woman unearths deep secrets about her

family and unexpected truths about herself. Miller’s Valley is a masterly study of family, memory, loss,

and ultimately, discovery. It is a story of finding your true identity and a new vision of home. It

reminds us that the place where you grew up can disappear, and the people in it

too, but all will live on in your heart forever.

We will discuss this book two times this month at the library.

*Monday, January 29 at 6:30 pm

*Wednesday, January 31 at 1:30 pm

If you can’t make the discussion here in person participate on our blog at

kplbookclub.blogspot.com.
