I have been skating Providence almost as long as I have been skating, give or take a couple years. I am 25 now, so it’s been almost 15 years! When I first

started coming to Providence with Jon Lavoie, people like Jon Hosington were killing the streets. All those tricks everyone thinks they got first on the courthouse rail; you might want to see if he did it

first. Back then, I was so small, so the city was huge. I

fell in love with it the first time I stepped foot on a board here. Skating the monument all day and night, losing boards in the water at the RISD steps, filming

with a crappy hand held camera. Skateboarding has gotten so big since then. The city

to me is smaller. There is such a big scene in Providence now that kind of just gets looked over. With all the people in Providence skating now, and

with people like Dan McGrath, Chase Bartee, Thom Musso and Nate Dean who all made the local videos that I

feel kick-started the scene, we don’t need the outside skateboarding world to care about us.

The skate scene now is thriving. So many awesome local videos coming out, more and more people are getting

psyched on the part of the country. There is a different feeling watching a video from the East

Coast, I know it sounds cliché, but living over here and knowing what it takes to film for a video part

dodging the weather, cops, and shitty spots makes you appreciate everyone’s skating here.

With all that said, I just wanted to thank everyone in this area that skates. I wake up every morning and am happy to live in Providence. No other city in the country is like it, and I have been to a lot of

places. I know I am going to see big things this year! Keep pushing through those shitty streets.

Thanks a lot for contributing homie, You fucking killed it!

Much more to come from this dude!
