Banff Transplant Pathology Classification Began at The TransCanada Pipeline Pavilion at the
Banff Centre for Conferences in 1991
Dr. Lorraine Racusen (center) was the first person I trained who became well known. We started the
Banff Classification together.
I trained other well known pathologists including Banu Sis and David Rayner, who, with Michael
Mengel, are my colleagues in renal pathology today.
Since May 15, 2015, I have shared the cyberNephrology office with young people in
training, and art and artifacts.
Thanks to my renal pathology colleagues who have helped me mentor many of our trainees. Together I
suppose we are the “Fab Four of Kidney Pathology”!
In 2002 Began Leonard Cohen events. Met the Man in 2005
In 2007 Students began managing Banff meetings
