Joseph R. Bravo

Born in St. Petersburg, Florida on August 21, 1946Died unexpectedly on December 10, 2019 at home in Fort Worth, Texas

Joe enjoyed a life filled with laughter and the love of family and friends. He workedhard, played hard, and laughed and loved easily. Joe served honorably in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft maintenance specialist. His fas-cination with all things aeronautical and mechanical became his lifelong occupation. He wasa licensed Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic, former licensed Master Electrician, andhydraulics specialist. Following his time in the Air Force, he worked for Downard Hydraulics in Princeton,W.Va.; Pratt & Whitney Aerospace in Jupiter, Fla.; Transworld Airlines in Madrid, Spain;and Bell Helicopter in Esfahan, Iran. He also worked for General Dynamics and LockheedMartin in Fort Worth, Texas. He retired in 2011 from Lockheed Martin where he specializedin Foreign Object Detection (FOD). Joe was never happier than when he was in the driver’s seat of his RV headed off onanother adventure with his wife Patty. When not traveling he could be found tinkering in hisman cave, visiting friends or volunteering at VFW Post 10429 in Benbrook, Texas. He was a wonderful husband, soul mate and consummate best friend to his wife, Patty.Joe and his son David enjoyed a close and loving relationship. Joe was a true friend to many.He was compassionate, willing to lend a hand to anyone, and had a quick and easy smile. He was a master fabricator and mechanic who could make anything out of almost noth-ing and fix just about everything. While passing a junkyard Joe would say, “Give me a weekand a case of beer and I could drive anything in there, out of there.” We lost an encyclopediaof mechanical knowledge when we lost Joe. Joe was a good man who gave his all. Our lives are richer from knowing and lovinghim. He is predeceased by his brother John. He is survived by his wife and soul mate Patty, his son David and much-loved daughter-in-law Shannon, his sister-in-law Susan, andnumerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Donations may be made to the scholarship program: mikeroweworks.org in lieu offlowers. Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas
