We would like to invite you to come and view the plans and to give us some feedback on the aspects you do or do not like; please feel free to pop in and have a look when you have a couple of minutes spare. Similarly we are hoping to collect names of parents who may be able to help with getting going on our first project; there is a sign-up sheet on the display. Thank you. Staff and children will also be discussing the plans over the next few weeks, and all comments will help inform the creation of the final master plan. Thank you for all your support with this and we look forward to looking at all the responses. Have a wonderful half term and we look forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday 20 th February. Please take the time to read the letter – we have provided information as to how we are continuing to support parents with attendance.

Truro High School Bake Off Last year more than a dozen local primary schools took part in The Great Truro High School Bake Off. This year will be open to girls and boys from Years 5 and 6 and we would love your child to be a part of it. Round one will take place here at King Charles with competitors invited to bring in half a dozen shaped and flavoured bread rolls that they have made themselves at home, for judging by our panel on Monday 6th March. The top bakers will be invited to attend one of the semi-finals in the Food and Nutrition Department at Truro High School on 26 and 28 April where they, assisted by a grown-up helper, will take on another baking challenge – the savoury quiche! The last round will be our Grand Final at Truro High School in late May, after the SATs week, when our panel of young chefs will take part in a technical bake placing all competitors on a level playing field. In 2016 they were asked to produce a Victoria Sponge cake, each using exactly the same ingredients. The winning school will be invited to bring the whole class to Truro High for a Food Experience Cookery Workshop. The successful chef will also receive a fantastic money-can’t-buy prize from Baker Tom himself. All those taking part will receive a certificate and we very much hope you

will join us in encouraging a new generation of young chefs and bakers to

show off their kitchen skills.
