Date set: Friday, 14 th December, 2018 Date due: Friday, 11 th January, 2019 Dear Year 5, Reading You will receive a library book that has been specifically recommended for you by someone else in the class. Whilst the selected book may not be something you would usually read, one of the purposes of this activity is to encourage you to try something different that someone else thinks you will enjoy. Please give it a go: you might surprise yourself. They will be trying to read the one you selected for them! Spellin g Whilst no new spellings have been set, you will continue to be tested on the Y5/6 words in the middle of your reading records. The Christmas holiday is an ideal opportunity to see how many of these you can master. Maths A game, Jungle Jump, has been allocated to you on ActiveLearn. Topic Select one of the challenges below, linked to our studies of the Earth, Sun and Moon. They are intentionally open-ended to enable you to have flexibility. You can choose your own materials and decide how interactive you wish your model to be. You do not have to do this on your own if you have an adult who is keen to help (perhaps someone who is visiting for Christmas)?! Remember to write your name somewhere on your model. Create a simple model of the Solar System. Make a world clock which shows different time
