Happy Hedgehogs

Dear Parents, This month a new little hedgehog Nathalie joined us. She is a lovely little girl and settling down just fine. At the end of October we had our Halloween party. Our little hedgehogs dressed up in their scary costumes and put on their brave face. Some of them became ghosts others were pumpkins, we had a dinosaur and even a little girl from the medieval time visited our classroom that day. We sang and danced a lot. We had visitors from other classes and they gave us a lit-tle of their Halloween show and of course we had lots of trick and treats!!!!!!!!! This month we were talk-ing about the weather a lot. The little hedgehogs know lots of words which related to the weather now such as sunny, cloudy, rainy ,windy. They really enjoyed making the hand print rainbow which was a class project. While they were doing this art they sang the Rainbow song which is one of their fa-vourite. The weather brought up another subject, clothes. We were looking

at clothes which they can wear in different weathers and they happily dressed up the ginger bread man with different coloured clothes. This week we will have a very excited theme the 5 senses. We will look, taste, touch, smell and hear.

3

The little ones will make a scented pa-per flower, will get to know different materials by touching them and will hear different sounds. With this theme we will have lots of fun and laughter!!! Unfortunately, this month brought lots of sickness in our classroom too. Not

only the children but the teacher (me) got sick as well. I kindly ask the parents that make sure

the children have proper clothes on according to the weather conditions. Hat, scarf and an extra jumper should be in the children box in the chang-ing room. We will celebrate Santa Clause very soon, on 6th December. I will let every-body know what will happen on that day as soon as I have the in-formation. Thank you very much for your kindness and ongoing support!!! Csilla, Edina and Sher-ry.

Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. golden Sun Please shine down on me. Oh Mr. Sun, Sun Mr. golden Sun Hiding behind the tree. These little children are asking you To please come out so we can play with you. Oh Mr. Sun, Sun Mr. golden Sun Please shine down on me.

I USE MY 5 SENSES (Tune: The farmer in the dell) I use my eyes to see 2x And when I want to see a star, I use my eyes to see. I use my nose to smell 2x And when I want to smell a flower, I use my nose to smell. I use my tongue to taste.2x And when I want to taste a peach, I use my

Friendly Frogs

Dear Parents,

The Friendly Frogs had tons of fun at the Halloween party with trick or treating and pumpkin carving. All the children looked adorable in their cos-tumes and not at all scary, even the witches looked cute! November has been an active month with hip-hop classes starting with Edi-na and gym classes as well as the usual swimming, ballet and Jiu Jitsu clas-

ses. The class has been learning all about what clothing we wear for different seasons and different activities this month and have learnt many names of items of clothing. They have especially en-joyed playing a memory game with items of winter clothing. The favourite book has been 'The Smartest Giant in Town', a great

book to learn clothing vocabulary and understanding the benefits of shar-ing. Favourite song of the month has been without a doubt a very energetic version of the 'The Hokey Cokey'! We have also started practicing songs and rhymes for the Christmas show but they will remain a big secret till the big day on the 18th December. The class enjoyed celebrating Korina's 3rd birthday this month with a delicious chocolate cake!

We look for-ward to cel-ebrating Lujzi's 3rd birthday on the 28th of November.

The weather has finally turned very cold and it’s the time of the year where many viruses spread. We really appreciate your cooperation with keeping your sick child at home as it’s the kindest solution for a poor-ly child and keeps the spread-

ing of illnesses to a minimum. We continue to take the chil-dren out every day to get some fresh air and outside exercise so please make sure gloves, hats and scarfs are labelled and in your child’s box. We are looking forward to Santa visiting us in December along with lots of Christmas and Hanukkah arts and crafts. We are sure to have great fun

with all the preparation for Christmas and Hanukkah dur-ing the upcoming festive sea-son. With these activities in mind can I ask you to bring in any old shoe boxes as we are planning a project and will need 12 boxes in total. Mary is now working till 1pm everyday due to family com-mitments. Her replacement in the afternoon is Judit who works with the Grasshoppers

in the mornings. Judit brings many years of experience of working with

small children and the group is already very familiar with her. Thanks for your continued support! Mary and Bori

Clever Owls

Dear Parents,

Our third month has just past very fast with lots of activities, learning and

playing. We can see lots of improvements on the Owls, which is a very nice

feeling. We have been getting on with the Jolly phonics, singing, math les-

sons etc. and in general every day tasks as well. To improve it even further

we now have a new way of influencing the Owls to do better. The „behaviour

board” and the „stamp board” are showing the children how they are getting

on during the day and also it gives a chance to improve if they are not happy

with the result by doing good deeds. There are three faces on the wall: a

smiley, a not so happy and a sad face. The childrens names are on pegs.

Everybody starts the day with the happy face, their name can go down onto

the not so happy face if they miss behave, but as soon as they do something

very nice their name can go back to smile again. Those who are staying on

smiley all day get a stamp. The children responding really well to this new

idea and we can see

how much they al-

ready improved.

7

We also have a new member

of our class from Poland, her

name is Zuzia, she made

friends very quickly with Zofia

and although she is a shy lit-

tle girl she is settling on well

with the Owls. With Zuzia we

have now 10 children in the

class.

For a few weeks we are hav-

ing art lessons with Bori from

the Friendly Frogs on Mon-

days and Tuesdays when we can create beautiful pictures.

Tim is back again with the puppet show on Wednesdays, with his clever sto-

ries and a sing along together with The Friendly Frogs.

This is a general newsletter about the changes in our lives, the more detailed

one we send you weekly.

Have a lovely holiday season,

Kind regards, Suzy and Attila

Dear Parents, November has been a very busy

and funfilled month. The month

started with a beautiful Diwali

celebration. The lanterns the

children made looked

spectacular in the darkened

room.

We went on three amazing

trips! Two of which were

educational as well as fun. As

our theme this month has been 'Then and Now' we started by looking at animals

that lived then. DINOSAURS! Our first funausaurus triposaurus was to the Natural

History museumosaurus where the children got to see the bones of the ancient

Hungarian dinosaurs, the little known:

Hungarosaurus! The Butterflies

coloured, cut out and built dinosaurs

from paper. The Dino Stomp and the

Dino Pokey dances were hits with the

Butterflies with lots of claw swipes and

dino roars! The exciting dinosaur

weeks passed with lot's of

exclamaitions of 'Oh my O'saurus!!'

The second trip was to the Museum of

Agriculture for a lesson about how

bread is made. Here the Butterflies took part in a treasure

hunt around the museum looking for farming tools, and

had a chance to grind wheat with a real mill stone.

Butterflies

9

This was a prelude to our

next theme: 'Food'. The

Butterflies learnt a little

about the food pyramid

and about the different

food groups. They explored

how to create a healthy

food plate, so it contains

one item from each food

group . To help them with

this they learnt to sing The

Food Group Rock'n'Roll.

Thank you for your co-operation with show and tell week, the Butterflies did some amazing presentations. We have also almost finished videoing all the Family Banner presentations too, we are still just waiting for a few more to arrive, could we kindly have those as soon as possible, as this is a portfolio project so it is needed in order to complete your child's portfolio. Winter has arrived with a cold spell and an early sprinkle of snow! Please make sure

your children have weather appropriate clothing. Also bear in mind that the

classrooms are heated, so inside it is warm. Perhaps it is best to have extra clothes

to put on for outdoor time then to wear many layers inside.

We would like to warmly invite you to the Butterflies and Grasshoppers grand Christmas song and dance show. On the 18th of December at 16:00. For the show we would like to ask you to have formal wear for your child: black trouses and white shirts/tops for the boys and black or white skirts/dresses for the girls, with black or white tights and white shirts/blouses/tops.

We would like to request that over the Christmas break you take your child's pencil case home and bring it back in January refilled as needed.

Food group rock’n’roll!

Food groups are rockin’ tonight. Food groups are rockin’ tonight. Everybody’s feeling all right. Food groups are rockin’ tonight. We’re gonna have some fun when breakfast comes. ‘Cause the food groups are rockin’

And before we finish this artical, we must tell you about the amazing Halloween party the Butterflies had at the end of October! It was an awsome day with halloween dancing, ghostastic trick or treating, and a birthday party added to the mix! Szonja had a very special birthday that was attended not by the Butterflies, but by witches, skellitons, crazy doctors and I think a pumpkin too! In November we celebrated Sakura's birthday too, with lots of songs and games and birthday fun. Happy birthday to both those girls and also to Daniel, who turned 6 in November too. Have a peaceful advent, Kenneth and Cikra

Dino-Pokey (to the tune of "The Hokey Pokey") You put your claws in, You take your claws out, You put your claws in, And you scratch 'em all about. You do the dino pokey, And you turn yourself around. That's what it's all about! Scratch scratch! RWAAAAAR dino pokey..... RWAAAAAR dino pokey..... RWAAAAAR dino pokey.....

That's what it's all about! Scratch scratch!

Dear Parents,

The past couple of weeks have

sure flown by. We finished off

October with a fun and

successful Halloween Party!

Every Grasshopper was dressed

up in a scary costume and

couldn’t be recognized! Their

individually made 'trick or treat'

bags was a huge hit and they

had it filled with lots of goodies.

They all learned lots of songs, their favorite being "Spooky Skeleton".

As I'm sure you have noticed, the Grasshoppers communicate all day in

English with one another, not to mention their vocabulary's and self esteem

both constantly growing.

As time passes, they all feel

more and more confident

speaking in English, which is

exciting for me because I

collect alot if funny speech

bubbles for your child's

Grasshoppers

12

The Grasshoppers have finished all of their homework and are nowbringing in

their family banners. They look amazing, please come in and take a look! If

you havent already done so, please have your child finish and bring in their

family banner.

Both the Butterflies and the Grasshoppers went on alot of fun trips this

month. They saw dinosaur bones and learned alot at the Natural History

Museum and each child received a dinosaur sticker. The Museum of

Agriculture was a blast! Our amazing tour guide taught us where wheat

comes from and how to make bread. Last week we went to the local market

and bought fruit and vegetables, later on enjoyed Kenneth's fruit smoothie

with our afternoon snack.

Since last week, we have been practising Christmas songs with the Butterflies

and can't wait to show off our vocal skills and dance moves at this years

Christmas Show on December 18th, at 16:00. Starting next week they will

have homework going out again. Please keep in mind that if they do 1-2

sheets a week that is plenty.Winter has finally arrived! Please make sure your

child has all of their winter apparel so he/she can enjoy the chilli outdoors

without catching a cold.

Wishing you all a

wonderful month.

mental illness– and is trying to

make some extra income by

making stars and baskets so they

can pay their bills and cover their

medication and grocery bills .

She would never ask for help from

„strangers” that’s why I’m trying

to help her this way….
